    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a greening material capable of holding ectomycorrhizal fungi or arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi at high density and sufficiently exhibiting the effect of the microorganisms when the material is applied to the soil.SOLUTION: The pH of vegetable carbide is adjusted to 5.0-8.0 by adding at least one of organic acid, vegetable juice and fruit juice to the vegetable carbide, and ectomycorrhizal fungi and/or arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi are held to the vegetable carbide to obtain the greening material. As a result, the vegetable carbide, whose chemical characteristic is normally mildly alkaline or alkaline, can be optimized as a material for holding ectomycorrhizal fungi and arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi which like mildly acidic or acidic conditions. With this greening material, ectomycorrhizal fungi and/or arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi can be efficiently propagated on the vegetable carbide and held at high density, and the effect of the microorganisms can be stably exhibited when the greening material is applied to the soil.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water cleaning system and a water cleaning method capable of maintaining an eliminating ability of phosphorus, nitrogen or others till the decay of sunk woods progresses and inexpensively and capable of effectively carrying out the cleaning of water in a body of water.SOLUTION: The water cleaning system for cleaning water in water areas such as lakes, dammed lakes, rivers, or ponds has: a sunk wood filtering tank 2 having a plurality of sunk woods 5 constituted by cutting floodwoods, wind-fallen trees, and a thinned woods at least 5 cm or more in the maximum cross-sectional thickness, and sunk into water inside of the same; and a Shirasu chip-filtering tank 4 containing Shirasu chips 6 constituted of mixture of Shirasu (volcanic ashes) and woody chips inside of the same.
