摘要： A sender in a wireless network may adjust the encoding bit rate of the transmitted content and/or the transmission bit rate of the content based on the predicted future channel throughput at a predicted future geographical position of a client mobile device, such as a cellular telephone. By appropriately adjusting the bit rate prior to the client mobile device experiencing the predicted low throughput, the likelihood of continuous content consumption by the client mobile device, even while experiencing the predicted low throughput conditions, may be increased. The prediction may be performed at the network side and/or at the client mobile device side.

摘要： The invention relates to the generation of error correction data for available data packets and to the reconstruction of missing data packets based on available data packets and available error correction data. In order to enable an efficient error correction, the data packets are distributed at an encoding end to at least one block of data symbols, each data symbol being of equal size. Then all data symbols of a respective block are used in an encoding operation for forming a respective one of at least one error correction symbol for this block. At a decoding end, received data packets are distributed again to a block of data symbols and missing data packets are reconstructed based on these data symbols and on error correction symbols associated to the block.

Voice is transmitted in first packets, and control information is transmitted in second packets. A bearer service is reserved from the network for transmission of the first and the second packets.
