    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a damping device of a structure having high damping effect even in a part deviated from a resonance point of the structure and a chained mass damper when the chained mass damper is provided in the structure.
      SOLUTION: This damping device 1 provided in the building structure M has a TMD 2 provided with a weight 11 and a spring 12. A lock mechanism 3 is attached to the weight 11 in the TMD 2, and a vibration sensor 4 for detecting vibration of the building structure M is provided in the building structure M. The lock mechanism 3 and the vibration sensor 4 are connected with a controller 5, which turns on the lock mechanism 3 when vibration of the building structure M detected by the vibration sensor 4 is deviated from a region of main vibration system inherent vibration number to suppress moving of the weight 11.

      SOLUTION: The base isolation device includes an upper supporting shaft 7 supported on a universal supporting section 6 of a skeleton side 2 in a rotatable manner and an intermediate supporting body 10 having a disc-like section 11 movably provided along the axis of an upper supporting shaft 9 supported on a swivel supporting section 8 of the ground side 4 in a rotatable manner, an upper supporting body 12 placed between the disc-like section 11 of the intermediate supporting body 10 and the skeleton side 2 and a lower supporting body 13 placed between the disc-like section 11 of the intermediate supporting body 10 and the ground side 4, and at least one of the upper supporting body 12 and the lower supporting body 13 is made to come into contact with supporting surfaces 14 and 15 formed in the disc-like section 11 of the intermediate supporting body 10 to enable it to make relative displacement. The supporting surfaces can be formed on the upper supporting side 12 or the lower supporting body side 13. The supporting shafts 7 and 9 can be formed into one.
