摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain the castable material which has required properties and does not generate gaseous hydrogen at all during curing by compounding carbon raw materials, silicon carbide, metallic Al, glass powder, a reaction inhibitor for Al and water, and aluminous raw materials. CONSTITUTION:The above castable refractories for lining torpedo ladle cars consist of 3 to 20wt.% carbon raw materials, 3 to 30wt.% silicon carbide having >=80% purity, 0.5 to 10wt.% metallic aluminum, 0.1 to 3wt.% glass powder and the balance aluminous raw materials. Since the refractories completely suppress the generation of the gaseous hydrogen during curing, the refractories are effectively produced by using the raw materials formed by granulating the Al and carbon which are the sources for generating the gaseous hydrogen. The smaller amt. of the ordinary-temp. Al reaction inhibitor to be added than in the case of the independent use of the Al and carbon raw materials in necessitated. The curing strength of the material is, therefore, less degraded.

Furthermore, since crushing is not needed in the classification, time and effort are saved, and the metal is not exposed.
