    • PURPOSE:To improve the wear resistance of an edge body and to reduce the manufacturing cost by forming a powder body having a high hardness and a high wear resistance, in the corresponding surfaces of a pair of base material steel plates, and subsequently, polymerizing and joining each powder layer by the means of rolling, forge welding, etc. CONSTITUTION:On an edge body manufacturing line, a hopper 7 containing a high hardness/high wear resistance powder body 8 is provided, and also a calcination furnace 9 is provided. By the calcination furnace 9, a base material 6 is brought to red heat at a high temperature, and also the powder body 8 is calcinated and a powder layer 10 is formed on the base material 6. Also, in other line of the same kind, a powder layer 10' formed by making a powder body 8' adhere onto a base material 6' is formed, and both powder layers 10, 10' of the materials 6, 6' are pressed strongly against a clad roller 12. According to this method, the powder layers 10, 10' are anchor-coupled firmly to each other, and an edge body base material A which are polymerized and joined strongly is obtained. Accordingly, the wear resistance of the edge body A is improved and the manufacturing cost can be reduced.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent the peeling of a lead coating layer even under the high- temp. conditions where the temp. is drastically changed by using a steel contg. more than a specified amt. of copper as a base material in the title corrosion resistant structure obtained by coating lead on the surface of the base material through an intermediate layer consisting of tin, a tin-lead alloy, etc. CONSTITUTION:An intermediate layer consisting of tin, a tin-lead alloy, or a zinc-iron-tin alloy is formed on the surface of the base material consisting of a steel contg. >=0.18wt% copper. A lead layer is then deposited on the intermediate layer by fusion. In such a corrosion resistant structure, the mechanical strength of the intermediate layer is improved by the action of copper contained in the base material, and the peeling of the lead coating layer can be prevented even under the conditions at >=150 deg.C where the temp. is drastically changed. Accordingly, even when an exhaust gas, etc., contg. SOx, etc., resulting from heavy oil used as fuel is treated, durable corrosion resistance can be provided even under the conditions where a thermal shock at >=150 deg.C is produced in a low-dew point corrosion region.
