    • The invention relates to a technology for decreasing or eliminating communication overhead in a communication system for communicating packet data. A gateway compresses IP header (331 ), UDP/Real-time, and Transport Protocol (RTP) header and associates with the data to transmit the data to a base station. The base station compresses the GTP related header (320) using a RObust Header Compression (ROHC) scheme. UDP/RTP header (332) is integrated with the plurality of data packets, generates SCTP header. The base station generates header decompression information, and inserts it into a Packet Data Convergence Protocol (PDCP) of the LTE L2 header (310) as a header compression (HC) header (335). The relay receives the data from the base station using the Layer (Ll) and the Layer (L2) of a 3GPP LTE protocol. The base station transmits, via the relay, the header decompression information to a terminal accessing the relay, and the terminal can decompress the compressed GTP header (323) using the header decompression information.

    • Disclosed is a carrier management method in a carrier aggregation environment of a mobile communication system. A method for managing carrier status according to the present invention is configured to transmit a deactivation message for a subcarrier from a base station to a terminal, and change a subcarrier to a deactivated status when the deactivation message is transmitted after a predetermined amount of time elapses. The terminal receives the deactivation message transmitted and used by the base to change the subcarrier to the deactivated status when a predetermined amount of time elapses after the deactivation message is transmitted. At this point, a predetermined value may be used as the predetermined amount of time, in order to prevent the mismatch of status information on a corresponding subcarrier that the base station and the terminal manage. Accordingly, a mismatch of a subcarrier status that the base station and the terminal manage may be prevented during subcarrier deactivation by means of the method for managing carrier status according to the present invention. Therefore, problems resulting from the mismatch of a subcarrier status by the base station and the terminal may be prevented.
