The light source also comprises a power input configured for receiving a power signal from a power source to enable the light emitting diodes to emit light at a light intensity selected from a light intensity range. The first current source and the second current source are arranged such that the first current is provided to at least one of the light emitting diodes when a light intensity is selected in a first portion of the light intensity range and the second current is provided to at least one of the light emitting diodes when a light intensity is selected in a second portion of the light intensity range. The first portion and the second portion of the light intensity range correspond to different portions of the light intensity range.
