摘要： An imaging system for imaging a viscoelastic medium is disclosed. The imaging system comprises a variable refractive lens (4) and a transducer system (5) for generating acoustic radiation. The imaging system is operated to alternate between first and second operating modes. While the variable refractive lens is operated to alternate between a first configuration and a second configuration, the transducer is operated to alternate between generating acoustic radiation for displacing the viscoelastic medium and acoustic radiation for imaging the displacement of the viscoelastic medium. In embodiments the variable refractive lens is a fluid focus lens. Moreover, in embodiments, the imaging system is integrated with a catheter-based interaction modality, such as a tissue ablation modality.

摘要： The present invention relates to a system (100) for combined ablation and ultrasound imaging of associated tissue (40), which is particularly useful for use in an ablation process. The system comprises an interventional device (20) with an ultrasound transducer and an ablation unit. During an ablation process, the interventional device (20) can be applied for both ablation and imaging of the tissue (40) subject to the ablation. A controlling unit (CTRL) is further comprised within the system, and arranged to calculate a predictor value based on one or more signals from the ultrasound transducer, where the predictor value relates to a risk of impending tissue damage due to a rapid release of bubble energy. According to a specific embodiment, a primary signal is sent if the predictor value exceeds a threshold value, so that proper measures can be taken.

摘要： A system (200) for detection of motion in a body includes an acoustic probe (242, 100), a motion detection processor (270), a variable voltage supply (290), and a controller (210). The acoustic probe (242, 100) includes an acoustic transducer (244, 20), and a variably-refracting acoustic lens (242, 10) coupled to the acoustic transducer. The variably-refracting acoustic lens has at least a pair of electrodes (150, 160a, 160b) adapted to adjust at least one characteristic of the variably-refracting acoustic lens in response to a selected voltage applied across the electrodes. The motion detection processor is coupled to the acoustic transducer and executes an algorithm to detect motion of an object in response to acoustic energy received by the acoustic transducer. The variable voltage supply applies selected voltages to the pair of electrodes. The controller controls the variable voltage supply to apply the selected voltages to the pair of electrodes.
