摘要： A low-pressure mercury vapor discharge lamp has a light-transmitting discharge vessel (10) enclosing, in a gastight manner, a discharge space (13) provided with a filling of mercury and a rare gas. The discharge vessel comprises discharge means for maintaining a discharge in the discharge space. The discharge vessel is provided with a luminescent layer (17) comprising a mixture of at least a red and a green luminescent material. The red luminescent material comprises (Y,Gd) 2 O 3 :Eu. The green luminescent material comprises (Ba,Ca,Sr) 2 SiO 4 :Eu and/or (Sr,Ca,Ba,Mg,Zn)Si 2 N 2 O 2 :Eu. Particles of the green luminescent material are surrounded by a coating of aluminum oxide. Preferably, at least 50% of the particles of the green and red luminescent materials have an average diameter greater than or equal to approximately 5 μm. The mixture of the red and green luminescent materials render a low-pressure mercury- vapor discharge lamp with an improved lumen equivalent.

摘要： A low-pressure vapor discharge lamp has a radiation-transmitting discharge vessel (1) enclosing, in a gastight manner, a discharge space (3) provided with a gas filling. The gas filling is substantially free of mercury and comprises an indium compound and a buffer gas. The discharge vessel (1) comprises discharge means (2) for maintaining a gas discharge in the discharge space (3). The discharge vessel (1) is provided with a luminescent layer (4). The luminescent layer (4) comprises a luminescent material based on a nitridosilicate or on an oxonitridosilicate. Preferably, the luminescent material comprises rare-earth emitters. Preferably, the luminescent material comprises europium, cerium, or ytterbium emitters.

The low pressure gas discharge lamp according to the invention is especially suitable for tanning purposes but also for treatment and curing applications. It is an object of the invention to provide a mercury-free low-pressure gas discharge lamp with a high luminous efficacy. This is achieved by a gas filling of the discharge vessel on the basis of a metal halide like InX, GaX, AlX, SnX, where X = F, Cl, Br, I, or a mixture of the metal halides and a phosphor layer containing for example - (Ca,Sr)S:Eu, Lu 3 Al 5 O 12 :Ce. As an effect the emission from the phosphor layer together with the emission from the gas discharge forms light in the UV-A range and white light in the visible range.
