    • A graphical user interface for navigating through content is provided. The graphical user interface comprises a history panel wherein navigation history data is displayed so as to represent past selections, and furthermore comprises at least a first panel displaying a first menu of a content structure. The first menu comprises one or more selectable items. A further at least second panel for displaying a first sub-menu of a currently highlighted item of the first menu may be provided. By providing information about navigation history data to the user in a history panel, the user is provided with a general overview of the content and also of the current navigation process and/or the overall navigation structure. By providing navigation history information in a history panel, the past dialog boxes may be closed without loosing any information regarding the current navigation process.

    • A data-processing device (100) has: input means (101) for receiving an input (113, 114) for selecting a string of symbols from a collection (104) of symbol strings; a memory (102) for containing the collection (104); and a processor (103) for processing the collection (104) and for presenting a selection (105) of the collection (104) at least partially on a display screen (106). The selection is based on the initial symbol of the string. However, if an operator desires to select a first string (107) of symbols having: a first portion (108) containing an initial symbol (110); and a second portion (109) containing a second initial symbol (111), the operator needs to remember the distribution of the content over the portions. This is especially cumbersome if the distribution has semantically little significance, for instance, with portions containing a surname and a given name. This is improved by the processor (103) being arranged to add (112) the first string (107) of the collection (104) to the selection (105) in response to the input means (101) receiving an input (113, 114) associated with either of the initial symbol (110) and the second initial symbol (111).

    • The invention relates to a method, a display apparatus (100) and an electronic device (400) for processing touch events. The display apparatus (100) comprises a touch screen device (106) and a controller (101). The touch screen device (106) receives touch events as a result of objects touching the touch screen device (106) at respective positions. The objects belong to multiple groups of objects that belong together. The controller (101) is constructed for detecting movement of positions of the touch events on the touch screen device (106). The controller (101) is further constructed for determining whether the movement of a subset of positions belongs to a pre-defined gesture. The pre-defined gesture indicates that the objects associated with the subset of positions belong to one of the multiple groups. The touch events for which is determined that the movement of the subset of positions belongs to the pre-defined gesture are assigned by the controller (101) to one of the multiple groups.
