    • A toe guard (1) for an elevator car (2), said toe guard comprising a movable panel (3). When the toe guard is moved from the stowaway position into the operative position, it assumes steplessly a suitable length between the aforesaid retracted extreme position and the afore-said extended extreme position, depending in each case on the height position (h) of the elevator car (2) having stopped between floors relative to the landing floor (6).
