摘要： An elastic nonwoven composite that contains an elastic film laminated to one or more nonwoven web materials is provided. The composite is formed by passing the film through a nip to bond the film to the nonwoven web material(s). Concurrent with bond formation, apertures are also formed in the elastic film. The apertures are of a size sufficient to provide a desired level of texture, softness, hand feel, and/or aesthetic appeal to the composite without having a significant adverse effect on its elastic properties. Aperture and bond formation are accomplished in the present invention by selectively controlling certain parameters of the lamination process, such as film content, bonding pattern, degree of film tension, bonding conditions, etc.

摘要： The present invention relates generally to a kit for coupling a first pipe to a second pipe. The kit includes an elastomeric coupling sleeve provided with top and bottom ends sized to snugly fit within the respective first and second pipes. The coupling sleeve includes top, intermediate and bottom portions and an inner surface that defines a passageway. A first passageway portion extends between the top and intermediate portions and a second passageway portion extends between the intermediate and bottom portions. The first passageway portion tapers toward the intermediate portion and has threading formed along the inner surface. The second passageway portion tapers toward the intermediate portion and has threading formed along the inner surface. The kit also includes top and bottom rigid expansion rings that have threading formed along their outer surfaces configured for engagement with the threading formed along the inner surface of the first and second passageway portions, respectively. When operatively connecting the coupling sleeve to the first and second pipes, each expansion ring is threadingly engageable with the associated portion of the coupling sleeve so as to urge the coupling sleeve in the region of the expansion ring to bulge outwardly and seal the coupling sleeve against the respective first and second pipe.

摘要： A solar heater comprises a relatively shallow large-diameter concave dish (11). A spiral of tubing (12) is coiled inside the dish adjacent its concave surface with a fluid-entry at or towards one end of the spiral and a fluid-exit at or towards the other end thereof. Respective and separate power-driven motors move the dish about azimuth and altitude axes so as to keep it trained on the sum. A reflective surface moving with the dish reflects the sun's rays onto the back of the spiral coil so that the front of the coil is heated by direct solar- radiation, the back of the coil is heated by a combination of reflection from said surface and conduction from the heated front of the coil, and the risk of the coil being warped by excessive direct radiant heat is minimised. A lens system (16) may be supported across the dish and a translucent cover (17) may cover the dish, the enclosed space containing nitrogen.
