摘要： The side-table for fixing onto the side of a bed, recliner, or chair, is adjustable in height by means of a bar (15) which is inserted, with a certain amount of play, into a guide sleeve (14) fixed at an angle of forty-five degrees or more. The upper end of the bar (15) is joined to a support arm (20) which can pivot on a vertical axis. A plate spring (28) which is U shaped is positioned underneath the slanting bar (15). One end of the spring (28) is fixed to the sleeve (14) and the other end (29) to the bottom end of the bar (15).

摘要： An adjustable article of furniture, particularly an adjustable bed, has a frame and a backrest mounted on the frame for pivoting between a substantially horizontal rest position and an upright position. A leaf spring, or a plurality of such springs, is supported on the frame and urges the backrest toward its upright position. A section of the spring constitutes a seat support for the article of furniture, and can be deflected downwardly to a limited extent concurrently with pivoting of the backrest toward its upright position, from the generally straight configuration which the spring assumes when the backrest is in its rest position. The end of the spring which acts on the backrest is freely displaceable relative to the latter, either by being in sliding contact therewith, or by interposing anti-friction bearing means between the backrest and the respective end of the spring. An extension at the other end of the spring supports and biases a legrest toward a predetermined position of the same. A center portion of the spring is supported on the frame with freedom of limited displacement relative thereto to permit sagging of the seat in the upright position of the backrest. Extensions of the legrest and/or the backrest support the seat portion of the spring from underneath in the rest position of the backrest.

摘要： The seat (10) has a limited movement w.r.t. the stand (16). The centre of the seat underside abuts a ball (14) rollably mounted in a shell (18) of a widened dia., mounted on the stand. The seat is held at both sides in its front section by flexible holders (in)directly coupled to the stand. The seat rear side is held in its normal position by a twist permitting angle (26), coupled to the backrest (30) underside. At the middle level the backrest is resiliently coupled to a vertical shank of an angular support frame (24) at the rear, with the frame fixed to the stand by a horizontal shank.

摘要： The hospital bed has a frame in the centre to which the head is hinged to adjust under body weight and for arresting in selected positions. The head is balanced by a weight over a range of setting angles in upwards directed positions by a spring. The stringers of the centre part ride along support bolts on the bottom extension of the head part, so that the bolts move along slots in the stringers as provided. The torsion spring is fixed where it projects either end beyond the head and is fixed to this centrally. The stringers swivel round an axis carrying the foot part and are extended via a flat spring fixed to the underside of cross strut forming part of the foot. The head, centre and foot are enclosed by a frame. The head spring balance consists of tensile springs clipped to the side frame and joined to bosses reaching down at the sides of the head. The frame has fitments with spaced lugs to clip the springs into position for adjusting the force to suit the balance requirement.

摘要： The adjustable reclining chair has a movable head part, so that it is suitable as a bed for patients. The head part is extended beyond a pivot axle into an extension which supports the seat underneath when in a horizontal position. The support is pref. positioned near a sprung piece. The support point can be adjusted in height. The sprung piece, pref. in the form of a plate spring, is fixed near the legs of the patient, and serves to take the weight of the body in the middle of the seat. The sprung piece is supported at the head end, and leads through an abutment piece near the pivot axle for the head part. The sprung piece is reinforced in the part of the seat next to the foot part.
