    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid collection canister in which wound exudate from the tissue site are collected within a canister to prevent the liquids from reaching the reduced pressure source.SOLUTION: A reduced pressure treatment system includes a liquid-collection canister 102 for collecting liquid from a tissue site to which reduced pressure treatment is applied. The canister 102 includes a first space 318 configured to collect the liquid from the tissue site and a filter 104 having a frame 304 and a non-planar filter element. The filter 104 defines a second space within the canister 102 separated from the first space 318 by the filter element. The filter element sufficiently prevents liquid from passing from the first space 318 into the second space. The filter element substantially allows gaseous communication between the first space 318 and the second space when the second space is exposed to a reduced pressure.
