    • PURPOSE:To adjust the lightness of rock wool by adjusting the incorporation amt. of waste, such as shot, which is to be incorporated into normally wadded rock wool fibers and is generated at the time of wadding with a wadding machine. CONSTITUTION:Molten blast furnace slag 1 subjected to component adjustment by adding auxiliary raw materials to the slag is successively dropped and supplied from an inclined trough 2 through a pouring trough 3 to wheels 41, 42, 43 of the wadding machine 4. The molten slag 1 is finely stretched by the centrifugal force based on rotation while the molten slag 1 passes the respective wheels. The wadded rock wool fibers 6 are splashed by air flow 47 formed by a blower 46 in a body 44 and are collected in a collecting chamber 5. The wadding machine 4 is moved by wheels 45 closer to or apart from the collecting chamber 5, by which the incorporation amt. of the waste 8 generated at the time of wadding into the collecting chamber 5 is adjusted and the lightness of the rock wool fibers 6 is adjusted. The collected rock wool fibers 6 are thereafter transported toward the ensuing treatment by a collecting conveyor 52. The waste 8 generated at the time of the wadding is discharged to the outside by a discharge conveyor 7.

    • PURPOSE:To automatically administrate furnace conditions to a stable state by selecting blast furnace operating conditions from the respective ranks of furnace heat trends determined from a change in heat balance and the temp. of a molten iron and the information in the respective histories of the already existed operating conditions, etc. CONSTITUTION:The change in the heat balance and melting temp. determined by the heat balance model estimated by the heat balance in the lower part of the furnace are respectively segmented to prescribed ranges and the ranks of the furnace heat trends are determined. The operating conditions are previously set for each of the ranks of the furnace heat trends. The above-mentioned operating conditions are selected simultaneously from the change rate in the heat balance and the temp. of the molten iron at the time of deciding the furnace heat. The operating conditions are selected from the operating conditions before and after the above-mentioned operating conditions as a standard inclusive of said standard according to the information in the histories of the molten iron temp. to the decision of the furnace heat and the information in the histories of the already executed operating conditions including coke ratios, moisture, blast temps. and blast rates. The heat control of the blast furnace is executed precisely, automatically and adequately in this way.

    • PURPOSE:To enhance the quality and yield rate of a produced rock wool by controlling oiling amount based on the measured values of the repelling force or the cut length of the said rock wool in the packaging machine of the said rock wool. CONSTITUTION:The blast furnace slag provided by a primary electric furnace 11 is kept at a constant temperature in a secondary electric furnace 12 and extruded to be fed to a wheel 5 of a draft making machine 16 and accumulated as a fibrous material. In this instance, a drafting oil is sprayed from nozzles around the wheel 5, and the fibrous material is collected in an accumulating vessel 7, and the dumpling like mass of fiber is cut by a picker cutting machine 18 and granulated by a trommel 19 to give a granular product which is compressed and packaged by a packaging machine. The quality (fiber opening property) of the packaged rock wool is derived from the relationship of the wet bulk value and the repelling force which is measured by detecting the counter force of compression of the granular product to a specified thickness. Otherwise, the relationship between repelling force and the cut length of the rockwool product is determined in advance, and the quality of the rockwool can be estimated based on the above relationship.
