    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lessen labor required for assembling and disassembling by reducing the length and weight of a center shaft and simplifying the structure of a driving part by supporting the center shaft for driving a cutter disc by a toothed composite cylindrical bearing, and driving the tooth part of a rotary member of the toothed composite cylindrical bearing by a driver. SOLUTION: A cutter disc 2 provided on the front of a shield main body 1 is supported by a boss part 3a formed on the front of a center support type center shaft 3, and the center shaft 3 is supported on a casing 5 fixed to a partition wall 4 of a shield main body 1 through a toothed composite cylindrical bearing G. The toothed composite cylindrical bearing G is so constructed that a projecting part is formed on the inner periphery of a rotary member having a toothed part on the outer periphery thereof, and the rotary member is rotatably supported by plural rollers provided between the projecting part and a recessed part of a fixing member. A tooth part 6a formed on the outer peripheral side of the toothed composite cylindrical bearing G is driven by a pinion mounted on an output shaft of a driver 13 disposed outside the toothed composite cylindrical bearing G.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently allow an excavation both in hard ground and soft ground by making a roller cutter and a cutter bit fitted to a cutter disk mutually exchangeable from the inside on a tunnel excavator. SOLUTION: A cutter holder main body 4a is fixed to the cutter support frame 3 of a cutter disk. A rotary saddle 8 and a spacer 8b are fitted to angular shaft sections protruded on both sides of a roller cutter, the roller cutter is rotatably fitted with the engaging recess of the cutter holder main body 4a, and it is fixed by bolts 9a via a bearing cap 9. When the roller cutter is to be removed, the bolts 9a are loosened, a rotary saddle 8 is rotated by 180', and the roller cutter is extracted to the inside. A cutter bit 11 is inserted into the cutter holder main body 4a in combination with two support members 12, the support members 12 are separated to be locked on stoppers 6 of the cutter support frame 3, and their upper end edges are locked on the lock pieces 4b of the cutter holder main body 4a. The roller cutter and the cutter bit 11 can be exchanged from the inside in response to the excavated ground.
