摘要： A rotary multitube biocontactor has a plurality of tubes of a predetermined length and diameter. The tubes are bundled in a pillar like form and are connected with each other and with an axle at the sectional center thereof by means of welding or the like. The plurality of tubes are at angles to the axle, the axle being mounted in bearings provided on a trough at the top of two sidewalls thereof so as to enable the axle to be located close to the surface of water contained in the trough. The axle is rotated by a motor connected thereto thereby rotating the multitube biocontactor so that the tubes move in and out of the water contained in the trough.

摘要： Bonding bundles of thermoplastics tubes to form a grating or lattice comprises firstly fitting the ends of the tubes into a pair of end plates. Each of the plates has, on the face towards the opposie plate, a number of annualar grooves, which join one another at their tangent points. The plates are then heated and pressed together so that the ends of the tubes fited into them fuse together, forming an integral, thickened beading at each end of the tube bundle. If a twist in the final bundle is desired, the annular grooves in one mould plate are slightly offset in the rotational direction from those in the other plate. Method is used for making large numbers of tube bundles for use esp. in biological filters for sewage purification and for water coolers. The tubes are simply bonded together using inexpensive appts. by fusing their ends; thus eliminating the need for manual bonding.
