摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain a cathode ray tube using a blue light-emitting fluorescencer capable of improving the luminous color tone and electric current coefficient. CONSTITUTION:A silver-activated cubic zinc sulfide fluorescencer is mixed with a silver-activated hexagonal zinc sulfide fluorescencer at a suitable ratio. The resultant fluorescencer is then used to prepare a cathode ray tube. Both color tone and electric current efficiency of the cathode ray tube can be improved by providing the cathode ray tube with the blue fluorescencer capable of emitting deep blue light as a fluorescent film. The obtained cathode ray tube can be used to realize an improvement in the range in which the color tone is reproduced and the resolution of a color TV image receptor.

摘要： PURPOSE:To provide a fluorescent material consisting of an indium borate fluorescent material having a surface layer composed of a solid solution of said fluorescent material, a zinc compound and an aluminum compound, resistant to deterioration caused by irradiation of electron beam and especially suitable for a projection-type cathode-ray tube having high excitation current density. CONSTITUTION:The surface of an indium borate fluorescent material is coated with zinc oxide or zinc hydroxide and aluminum oxide. The amount of applied Zn and Al is 10-1,000mug/g each based on the whole fluorescent material. The coated fluorescent material is heat-treated usually at 500-1,000 deg.C for 30min-6hr to form a solid solution generated from the fluorescent material and the coating compounds on the surface of the fluorescent material. The fluorescent material is suitable also for a terminal display tube.

摘要： A cathode-ray tube has a face plate (1) which includes a phosphor layer (8) provided at the inner surface side of a glass plate (10) and an optical interference filter (7) provided between the phosphor layer (8) and the inner surface of the plate (10), the optical interference filter (7) being constituted by a plurality of alternating high- and low-refractive index layers (2, 3, 4, 5), wherein the outermost layer (5) of the optical interference filter in contact with the phosphor layer (8) is an Al2O3 layer or a ZrO2 layer having a physical thickness of 10 nm or more. The high-refractive index layer (3) of the optical interference filter preferably consists of TiO2, and its low-refractive index layer (4) preferably consists of Al2O3. The outer layer (5) protects the filter (7) from damage during cleaning before the phosphor (8) is applied, and from colouring by exposure to the scanning electron beam (R). A number of specific examples are given. A method of producing the alternate layers of high- and low-refractive index material is also disclosed in which an oxide or an element convertible into an oxide is formed on the inner surface of the faceplate and is then irradiated with O2 ions in a reduced-pressure atmosphere containing O2.
