    • PURPOSE:To measure voltage applied to an object to be tested by synthesizing a voltage applied to a discharge resistance mounted on an impulse voltage generator and a current signal flowing through the object to compensate for voltage drop due to an external series resistance connected to the object. CONSTITUTION:Voltage applied to an object to be tested from an impulse voltage generator (IG) is represented by V, current flowing through the object I and voltage applied to a discharge resistance R0 mounted on the generator IG V0. During the application of the voltage, a voltage signal of -RS2I/n develops between the connection point B of the discharge resistance R0 and an external series resistance RS2 and the point A of RS2/n of the resistance RS2 via the point B and a voltage signal of V0/n is obtained between the point B and the point C of R0/n of the resistance R0. Therefore, the voltages between the point A and the point C are synthesized to obtain a voltage of V/n. This enables the determination of the voltage applied to the object being tested by measuring the voltages between the points A and C.
