    • When instructed by an input part 18 to perform CM skip, which is to skip CMs during a playback, based on mode change recording positions (addresses) recorded in a RAM 14b, a controller 14 confirms whether there is any recording position corresponding to a mode change in a 3-minute section, i.e., a normal air time of airing CMs since the recording position at which CM skip has been instructed, but when finding a recording position corresponding to a mode change, skips CMs up to this recording position. Meanwhile, when instructed for time/picture search during a playback, based on reference time point recording positions (addresses) recorded in the RAM 14b, the controller 14 skips to the closest reference time point recording position to the recording position at which time/picture search has been instructed and continues a normal playback operation.

    • A game apparatus includes an LCD and a touch panel is provided on the LCD. On the LCD is displayed a game screen on which objects of different types are disposed so as to be aligned in a reticular pattern. By a player touching a desired object, a three-dimensional location of the object is set as a point of gaze of a virtual camera. Then, by the player moving a touch location, the location of the virtual camera (viewpoint) is changed according to the movement. In a virtual space, different layers are provided for the different types of objects. The objects are disposed so as not to overlap with each other between the different layers. When the viewpoint is fixed and a plurality of objects of different types intersecting a line of sight or a line parallel to the line of sight satisfy a predetermined condition, the objects are deleted.

If the number of tracks jumped during seek could not be counted appropriately, the seek control unit decrements the maximum speed by a second magnitude.     • For enabling a stable clock signal to be extracted from even an input signal of which the duty factor is made worse, there is presented a clock extraction circuit applicable to an optical signal receiver equipped in an apparatus for use in the optical data communication. The clock extraction circuit includes a rising edge differential circuit (12) for differentiating the input signal at the rising edge thereof, a first monostable multivibrator (13) for processing the output from the differential circuit (12), a second monostable multivibrator (14) for processing the output from the first monostable multivibrator (13), an OR gate (15) for carrying out the logical OR between the output signals from the first and second monostable multivibrators (13) and (14) and circuitry for variably varying output pulse width, which processes the result of the logical OR. With this configuration, it is made possible to extract a stable clock signal from an input signal even when the duty factor of the input signal is made worse.
