    • An optical scanner includes: a light source; a light deflector configured to deflect a light beam from the light source in a main scanning direction; a scanning lens through which the light beam having been deflected by the light deflector passes; a beam detector configured to detect the light beam; a mirror disposed between the light deflector and the scanning lens in an optical axis direction of the scanning lens and configured to reflect the light beam having been deflected by the light deflector toward the beam detector; and a wall portion configured to cover one end face of the mirror that faces the scanning lens, wherein the surface of the wall portion facing the scanning lens is tilted with respect to a sub-scanning direction orthogonal to the main scanning direction.

    • In a scanner housing of an optical scanner fixed to a main body housing of an image forming apparatus, an opposite wall is disposed between a support wall on which an optical element is supported and a wall of the main body housing. A space at an extreme end of an inner projection has a distance smaller than distances at all other spaces between the support wall and the opposite wall. A space at an extreme end of an outer projection has a distance smaller than distances at all other spaces between the wall of the main body housing and the opposite wall. The space at the extreme end of the inner projection overlaps with the space at the extreme end of the outer projection as viewed from a direction in which the inner projection and the outer projection project.

    • An image forming apparatus includes: a photosensitive drum configured to rotate about a rotational axis extending in an axial direction; and a charger that charges the photosensitive drum. The charger includes: a wire electrode; a grid electrode having a grid surface that faces the photosensitive drum between the wire electrode and the photosensitive drum; and a pair of shield electrodes, which faces each other with interposing the wire electrode therebetween, and which extends in a substantially orthogonal direction to the grid electrode. The grid surface is inclined to a second plane such that the grid electrode and the shield electrode come close to the photosensitive drum at a more downstream side in a rotating direction of the photosensitive drum than a first plane, wherein the first plane includes the wire electrode and the rotational axis of the photosensitive drum, and the second plane is orthogonal to the first plane.
