摘要： A compact cooling system based on thermoelastic effect is provided. In one embodiment, the system comprises a pair of rollers serving as a heat sink, stress applicator and belt drive, a cold reservoir and a solid refrigerant belt coupled to the cold reservoir and to the heat sinks to pump heat from the cold reservoir to the heat sink. The refrigerant belt comprises solid thermoelastic materials capable of thermoelastic effect. The refrigerant material is mechanically compressed when entering the gap of the roller and subsequently released after passing through. When compressed the refrigerant material transforms to martensite phase and releases heat to the roller and neighboring materials. After released by the rollers, the refrigerant material transforms back to austenite and absorbs heat from the ambient atmosphere.

摘要： A mechanism and methodology is provided for performing high-throughput thin-film experimentation with the use and integration of a heater. A single flange assembly contains an automated two-dimensional shutter system (which provides variable masking schemes for spatially selective shadow deposition) and a rotatable (indexed) chip/wafer/substrate heater. The automated two-dimensional shutter system comprises two shutter plate mounts that move in two perpendicular (x and y) directions, so that mounted shutters overlap with each other in certain regions. The substrate heater can be used in the gradient temperature mode or uniform temperature mode. The shutter plates and the heater plate are detachable and exchangeable from experiment to experiment in order to minimize cross contamination of materials.

摘要： A powdered super absorbent polymer (SAP) has heretofore been used as a water retentive material for sanitary products, such as sanitary napkin, disposable diaper and incontinence pad. This water retentive material is used by being held between two paper sheets but the powdered SAP comes off easily from absorbent member. Moreover, even when the SAP is in a dried powdered state or in a water-absorbed gel state, it is moved between a top sheet and a back sheet in accordance with the movement of a wearer of the sanitary product. Consequently, water absorbency decreases with poor shape stability. Moreover, since the SAP in a water-absorbed gel state is sticky, the wearer feels unpleasant.According to the present invention, therefore, a cellulose fiber, such as a viscose rayon fiber containing uniformly a non-cellulose based material of high water absorbency such as polyacrylate salt is manufactured. A fiber web and nonwoven fabric produced of this fiber is used as water retentive materials in an absorbent member. This fiber has high absorbency and moreover high water retentivity such that water absorbed into the fiber is hardly released from the fiber. Accordingly, an absorbent member formed of a sheet made of this fiber has a stable shape both when it is in a dry state and when it is in a water-absorbed state, and, moreover, it has high absorbency and high water retentivity. Therefore, when this water-retentive sheet is used, a thin absorbent member of high absorbency can be provided.
