    • The invention allows a portion of a multimedia message, usually the beginning part of the message to be delivered to and stored on a mobile terminal beforehand. When a user wants to view the message, the portion of the message stored locally will be played back immediately, while at the same time a user agent residing in the mobile terminal will contact a media server for the remaining contents using the streaming technology. This would give the user an impression that the whole message is stored locally since there is nearly no noticeable delay in the playback, thus providing a much better user experience. The partial contents down-loaded can be a portion of the whole multimedia message, or an muntrelated rich-media message provided by a third party as an advertisement. In this way, the usage of the local storage space on the mobile terminal will be much more efficient.

    • The present invention provides a 3D handwriting recognition system that allows users to freely write words or characters in a 3D space in a touchless manner, without requiring any physical medium such as a pad or a tablet. The users' handwriting input in a 3D space will be tracked by an input device of the system that generates corresponding 3D motion data and wirelessly transfers the 3D motion data to a recognition device of the system. The 3D motion data will be converted and then mapped onto a 2D plane to generate corresponding 2D images for handwriting recognition. In this way, the users' inputting will never be limited to any screen, pad or plane, and the users will have more flexibility and enjoyable writing experience.

    • The present invention relates to three-dimensional (3D) handwriting recognition methods and systems. The present invention provides a 3D handwriting recognition method and corresponding system which allows to generate 3D motion data by tracking corresponding 3D motion, calculate corresponding 3D coordinates, construct corresponding 3D tracks, derive 2D projection plane based on some strokes 3D tracks of on character, and generate 2D image for handwriting recognition by mapping the 3D tracks onto the said 2D projection plane. The 3D handwriting recognition method according to the present invention can use the processing power of system more efficiently and highly improve the system performance. So that the system can get the final input result in a much shorter time after the user finishes writing a character without a long time waiting between two characters input, thus the user has more pleased and natural input experience.

    • The present invention provides a wireless network system that enables direct wireless delivery of a multimedia message from a first MMS user agent to a second MMS user agent. In accordance with one embodiment of the invention, the wireless network system includes a MMS server that receives, from the first MMS user agent, a request to send a multimedia message to the second MMS user agent. The request includes an identification (ID) number of the second MMS user agent. From a core network, for example, the MMS server obtains an Internet address of the second MMS user agent based on the ID number of the second MMS user agent, if the ID number is not an Internet address of the second MMS user agent. Then the MMS server forwards the Internet address to the first MMS user agent to enable the first MMS user agent to wirelessly deliver the multimedia message directly to the second MMS user agent using the Internet address. Therefore, by not involving a MMS server in delivering multimedia messages, a substantial amount of network resources is saved, and delivery speed of multimedia messages is significantly increased. As a result, the performance of the overall network system is greatly improved.
