摘要： A publication is distributed by an automated publication delivery system. Activity around a physical location of the automated publication delivery system is monitored. In response to detection of an increased activity level around the physical location of the automated publication delivery system, additional copies of the publication are printed for distribution. For example, the automated publication delivery system is a kiosk and the publication is a newspaper. Monitoring is performed, for example, using a microphone to monitor noise level, an optical sensor to detect movement near the automated publication delivery system, and/or a motion detector to detect movement near the automated publication delivery system.

A virtual collaboration system includes a distributor communicatively coupled to a first network and a second network having different network characteristics from the first network, the distributor configured to receive first media streams from at least one first network node, and to transmit the first media streams to at least one second network node; and a management subsystem adapted to dynamically configure a topology of a virtual collaborative event, wherein configuration of the topology includes a determination of media stream connections among the distributor and the at least one first network node based, at least in part, on at least one policy, and wherein the media stream connections establish and maintain virtual relationships among the at least one first network node and the at least one second network node.

摘要： The present invention provides a method and apparatus for suspending delivery of electronic documents, that is, stopping and restarting electronic delivery of documents according to a user's preset schedule. The method may include the steps of entering a delivery schedule for the document into an electronic receiving device, and automatically suspending, without user intervention, delivery of the document based on the delivery schedule, then automatically restarting delivery at the time indicated by the user. In an electronic document delivery system, the apparatus for automatically suspending delivery of a document may include a scheduling unit and a suspension control unit. The scheduling unit is used to enter a delivery schedule for the electronic document into an electronic receiving device. The suspension control unit is coupled to the scheduling unit and automatically suspends and then restarts the delivery of the electronic document, without user intervention, based on the delivery schedule that is adjusted in accordance with a predetermined suspension scheme.
