The blade system may include a first blade module comprising a first conjoining channel, and a second blade module comprising a second conjoining channel aligned with the first conjoining channel, wherein the first blade module and the second blade module are symmetrical and mechanically coupled to form a conjoined blade, wherein electrical components of the first blade module and electrical components of the second blade module are electrically coupled via an electrical coupler routed through the aligned first conjoining channel and second conjoining channel.

    • A computer tower unit is provided with two cooling fans, a system cooling fan and a power supply cooling fan, that draw ambient air through the unit via a pair of upper and lower exterior wall air inlet openings disposed opposite the two fans to cool a horizontally oriented motherboard, a power supply unit, disc drives and expansion cards disposed in the unit. The need for a separate fan to cool the disc drives is eliminated by a specially designed air flow control baffle disposed within the unit. The baffle functions to cause cooling air drawn into the unit through the lower air inlet opening by the system cooling fan to be drawn upwardly along a horizontal edge of the motherboard, and horizontally along its top side upon which a processor is mounted, before being discharged by the fan, and also cause a portion of the air drawn into the unit through the upper inlet opening by the system cooling fan to be drawn through the disc drive mounting area within the unit to thereby cool the system disc drives without the use of a separate drive unit cooling fan. The baffle is preferably formed from a transparent plastic material, and is mounted within the tower unit in a manner such that, with a housing access wall of the unit removed, the baffle may be pivoted outwardly to permit easy service access to the motherboard.

    • A card guide assembly for isolating printed circuit boards from each other during insertion and removal from a mounting array. The assembly includes first and second isolation channels that are configured to permit the receipt of a variety of PC board sizes therein and a securement cap for receipt thereover.
