摘要： An electrical-energy-storage unit (EESU) has as a basis material a high-permittivity composition-modified barium titanate ceramic powder. This powder is double coated with the first coating being aluminum oxide and the second coating calcium magnesium aluminosilicate glass. The components of the EESU are manufactured with the use of classical ceramic fabrication techniques which include screen printing alternating multilayers of nickel electrodes and high-permittivitiy composition-modified barium titanate powder, sintering to a closed-pore porous body, followed by hot-isostatic pressing to a void-free body. The components are configured into a multilayer array with the use of a solder-bump technique as the enabling technology so as to provide a parallel configuration of components that has the capability to store electrical energy in the range of 52 kW·h. The total weight of an EESU with this range of electrical energy storage is about 336 pounds.

Examples of the precipitants used include tetraalkylammonium hydroxides. A composition-modified barium titanate is one of the ceramic powders that can be produced. Certain metal-ion chelates can be prepared from 2-hydroxypropanoic acid and ammonium hydroxide.

摘要： In this papermaking process, a first strength agent is added to a stock suspension containing pulp and optionally other additives prior to its being formed into a web at the wet end of a papermaking machine. The web is then formed and processed into paper. A second strength agent is then applied to the surface of the paper. The strength agents may be selected to have opposite charge.

摘要： A method of making a quartz-shell drum includes the steps of heating a quartz tube to a temperature at least sufficient to enable quartz to flow. A diameter of a portion of the heated quartz tube is enlarged to a predetermined size. The enlarged tube is cut perpendicular to a longitudinal axis to create a shell having a desired height. A top edge and a bottom edge of the shell are ground to form smooth radii. The top and the bottom edges are fused to create top and bottom rounded edges. In an alternate embodiment, the top edge is instead formed to be inwardly angled. Finally, a top and a bottom head are affixed to the top and the bottom edges, respectively, to form a drum.
