    • A warp knitting machine comprises a jacquard guide bar (102) whose guides (7) are movable to and fro between two end stops (113 and 114). This motion is effected by setting members of a guide control. The end positions of the guides have a separation equal to two needle spaces. Additional strikers (115) and (116) are, at choice, made operative by the setting members (transducer 108) of a stop control. When one of the additional strikers is in an operative position, that striker holds the guide (7) in a central position. In particular, needle control and stop controls may operate with piezoelectric transducers. In this manner, it is possible to obtain an extremely large number of patterning possibilities.

A common activating arrangement (8) which runs along the length of the carrier (1) and is driveable to and fro in the stroke direction, influences the stroke element (2) in the first position of the appropriate control element (21) in the at-rest position and carries it with it in its second position in a working mode. In this manner it is possible to control the individual stroke elements without the need for harness cords.

    • A joint bearing 8 is provided between two structural elements of which one is connected with the connecting joint 17 and the other with a hinge pin. In the connecting joint 17, there is provided a pressed-in outer ring 28, a cage 30 located between the hinge pin and the outer ring. The cage 30 is provided with cylindrical roller bodies 31, as well as stops 34, for the axial guiding of the cage. The outer ring 28 is so thin-walled that after pressing into place its inner circumference, must be reworked. The outer ring 28 only extends over the length of the roller body 31. The stops 34 are separated from the outer ring 28 and are attached to the connecting joint 17. Further, the hinge pin 20 may be constructed as a tube 19. The appropriate structural element (lever 9) contacts the outside of tube 19. By means of an outwardly protruding screw or other fastener 21 from the inner space of the tube, this structural element is attached onto the tube wall. With the foregoing, the mass of the joint bearing to be moved is substantially reduced.

In this manner, it is possible to provide a safely constructed pattern press suited for high velocity operation.

    • A holding device can holding implements for a knitting machines such as needles or guides. A needle (or guide) head (2) is held detachably on a carrier (9) by means of plug-type connections and a locking device. The needle head (2) is connected in one piece with a shank (3), which is flat and has a lateral recess (16) near its end. A holder (4) is arranged on the carrier (9). Following a guide section (19) matched to the shank cross section, the holder has a sprung catch (15) movable in the shank plane perpendicular to the shank axis. This catch can engage the recess (16) under pretension. More particularly, the holder (4) has between two external cover plates(6, 7), a middle plate (5) having free punchings forming the guide section (19) and the spring tongue (14). In this way the needle heads can be easily replaced individually.

The serial to parallel converters (23) take up the data sequentially and upon occurrence of the switching command transmit them simultaneously in the form of control potentials. In this way rapidly running and/or large warp knitting machines can be provided with a operative piezoelectric jacquard control.

Each carrier strip (3) consists of electrically insulating material.
