摘要： A method for interference cancellation in a device that receives transmissions from multiple sources is disclosed. The method includes receiving multiple slots, each including a pilot segment and a traffic segment. A first one of the slots includes information indicating an activity level of a traffic segment of the first one of the slots. The method also includes calculating a value associated with interference among the plurality of slots, utilizing the information indicating the activity level to account for an amount of interference attributable to the first one of the slots. Furthermore, channel conditions are estimated for a second one of the slots using the value associated with the amount of interference. The method also includes processing the second one of the slots according to the estimated channel conditions.

摘要： Methods and apparatus for selecting a serving sector in a high rate data (HDR) communication system are disclosed. An exemplary HDR communication system defines a set of data rates, at which a sector of an Access Point may send data packets to an Access Terminal. The sector is selected by the Access Terminal to achieve the highest data throughput while maintaining a targeted packet error rate. The Access Terminal employs various methods to evaluate quality metrics of forward and reverse links from and to different sectors, and uses the quality metrics to select the sector to send data packets to the Access Terminal.

摘要： Embodiments disclosed herein relate to methods and systems for providing adaptive server selection in wireless communications. An access terminal may be configured to determine a forward link quality metric associated with each of a plurality of sectors serviced by a plurality of access points; assign credits to each sector in relation to the forward link quality metric; and change a data source control (DSC) value if the credits accumulated for a non-serving sector at a DSC change boundary is greater than a predetermined threshold, where the non-serving sector and the serving sector for the access terminal belong to different cells. The access terminal may be further configured to change a data rate control (DRC) cover in accordance with the DSC change. The use of DSC may provide an early indication of handoff, thereby allowing the service outage associated with server switching to be substantially reduced.

The method includes: a terminal establishes a communication with a correspondent node, a first access node which the terminal accesses reports to a home identity location register (ILR) of the terminal the mapping information about the identity identifier and location identifier of the correspondent node of the terminal, and the ILR stores the mapping information about the correspondent node of the terminal; and after having acquired a new location identifier of the terminal, the ILR sends a notification of updating the location identifier of the terminal to one or more access nodes which the correspondent node accesses according to the stored mapping information about the correspondent node of the terminal, carrying the identity identifier and new location identifier of the terminal.
