摘要： Disclosed is a system and a method for providing a terminal with a notification message reporting changes of a system and of a service in the middle of a Digital Video Broadcasting-Handheld (DVB-H) broadcasting service. The system inserts channel information related to the transmission of the notification message into Electronic Service Guide (ESG) service fragment or ESG acquisition fragment, then transmits the inserted channel information, or specifies a notification session for a session to transmit the session. In this manner, the channel information related to the notification message can be transmitted to a terminal through an ESG, and the terminal acquires the channel information related to the notification message from the received ESG to receive the notification message by using the channel information.

摘要： Provided is a method of efficiently processing a Short-Term Key Message (STKM) in the mobile broadcast supporting the mobile terminal. A structure of a response message according to processing the STKM in the smart card is also provided. In particular, a variety of information necessary for reproducing in the player is included in the response message and delivered to the mobile terminal, thereby the mobile terminal can easily obtain the desired information through the response message. Therefore, when the STKM is processed in the mobile terminal, there is no need to process operations except for a resending check, and the information does not need to be stored separately.

The method includes the steps of analyzing motion picture experts group (MPEG)-2 transport stream for the digital broadcasting by a digital broadcasting receiver of a digital broadcasting subscriber as the digital broadcasting subscriber executes an electronic program guide (EPG) function, obtaining a PID of an elementary stream, which transmits an object carousel, by analyzing a program map table (PMT) of the motion picture experts group (MPEG)-2 transport stream if an application program is transmitted, downloading the application program using the PID information of the elementary stream and then storing the application program in a temporary storage device, displaying electronic program guide information through display of the digital broadcasting subscriber, and executing the application program when contents relating to the application program are selected in electronic program guide information.

When there are ESG fragments to be transmitted through a communication network among ESG fragments included in ESG data, a digital broadcast transmitter generates an ESG data session such that the ESG data session may include route information through the communication network of the relevant ESG fragments. Then, the digital broadcast transmitter transmits the generated ESG data session to a broadcast receiving terminal, which obtains the route information through the communication network of the relevant ESG fragments. Accordingly, a user can more easily and conveniently receive the ESG data by using the route information through the communication network obtained by the broadcast receiving terminal.

摘要： Disclosed is a broadcasting system and method for transmitting/receiving a broadcast data in a broadcasting system, which reduces an application download period by efficiently utilizing a data broadcasting stream and a return channel for application download when a reception terminal receives a data broadcast. The broadcasting system and method includes a data broadcast reception terminal to receive the broadcast data and a bi-directional broadcasting server to communicate with the data broadcast reception terminal through a return channel: the data broadcast reception terminal receives a data broadcast stream during one broadcast transmission period, and requests the bi-directional broadcasting server to transmit a portion of the data broadcast stream (e.g. section data) through the return channel when the section data of the received data broadcast stream is lost; the bi-directional broadcasting server transmits the section data to the data broadcast reception terminal when a download request is received for the section data from the data broadcast reception terminal; and the data broadcast reception terminal performs modularization using a received lost section data and the previously-received section data to extract application files when receiving the lost section data and displays the extracted application files on a screen.
