    • A system and method is disclosed for initializing PCI devices in a computer system or information handling system. Upon initialization of the system, each operating system instance of the system attempts to access a PCI bridge device. The first operating system to access the bridge device is granted ownership of the bridge device and the authority to initialize each PCI device coupled to the bridge device. The bridge device assigns each operating system to at least one context included in at least one of the PCI devices. After each of the PCI devices has been initialized, a configuration event is issued with respect to each operating system instance and each assigned PCI device, thereby causing each operating system to recognize each PCI device assigned to each respective operating system instance.

    • Plural processing subsystems of an information handling system, such as plural blades of a blade server, communicate through a base protocol, such as PCI Express, to a peripheral communication device with each processing subsystem interfaced through a port of the peripheral communication device. An encapsulation module of the peripheral communication device encapsulates the base protocol in an advanced switching packet, such as a packet formed with the PCI Express Advanced Switching protocol. A routing module of the peripheral communication device routes the packets through a bus, such as a blade server backplane bus, for use of the information by a selected peripheral. Peripherals communicate with selected processing subsystems by sending advanced switching packets to the routing module for the encapsulation module to extract the peripheral information from the packets and send the peripheral information to the port associated with the selected processing subsystem.

    • A system and method for a search engine is disclosed. A method for operating a search engine may include calculating a plurality of document vectors, receiving a search request, calculating a search request vector, calculating a distance between the search request vector and the plurality of document vectors, and returning a list of documents that are within a predetermined distance of the search request vector. An information handling system for a search engine may include a central processing unit that is coupled to a general purpose graphical processing unit. The central processing unit is able to calculate a plurality of document vectors, receive a search request, calculate a search vector, and return a list of documents that are within a predetermined distance of the search request vector. The general purpose graphical processing unit is able to calculate a distance between the search request vector and the plurality of document vectors.
