The user-selectable laser is an external cavity laser including a semiconductor laser diode for outputting an optical signal, and a wavelength selection filter. The user-selectable laser may allow a user to select a wavelength selection filter which is optically coupled with the semiconductor laser diode and selectively causes oscillation at the wavelength of an optical signal output from the semiconductor laser diode.

摘要： Provided are an apparatus for optimizing bias voltage of an electro-optic modulator, a method therefor, and an optical transmission system using the method. The present research provides a bias voltage optimizing apparatus of an electro-optic modulator that can stabilize bias voltage supplied to the electro-optic modulator through automatic bias voltage initialization control by considering the point that the form of an optical output signal and the intensity of a clock component are changed according to the bias voltage of the electro-optic modulator, a method therefor and an optical transmission system using the method. The apparatus includes: a clock extracting unit for extracting a clock frequency component from the frequency components in a wideband spectrum of the electro-optic modulator; a control unit for finding a point of the lowest electric intensity by detecting an electric intensity of the extracted frequency component and controlling the bias voltage adaptively by changing the bias voltage; and a bias voltage adjusting unit for controlling the bias voltage of the electro-optic modulator under the control of the bias voltage controlling unit.

摘要： To track the location of a terminal in an indoor space by using a pseudo GPS signal transmitter, a GPS signal sent from an artificial satellite is received, and a clock signal of the artificial satellite is extracted from the received GPS signal to perform synchronization with the artificial satellite. Once synchronization with the artificial satellite is performed, a pseudo GPS signal is generated, and the transmission time of the pseudo GPS signal is controlled. The GPS signal is sent to the terminal located in the indoor space by a plurality of transmitting antennas based on the controlled transmission time, thereby enabling the terminal located in the indoor space to track its location.

摘要： An apparatus and a method for modulating the optical intensity, with the noises suppressed by using a linear optical modulator, are disclosed, so that the characteristics of signals transmitted from an optical communication system can be improved, and that the resolution of the measured physical quantities can be improved in an optical measuring instrument. The method is carried out in the following manner. That is, the magnitude of frequency is measured by utilizing pilot signals and electrical signals to transfer negatively fed-back signals to an optical intensity modulator. The phase is delayed by generating pilot signals so as to suppress an amplitude noise from the pilot signal caused by nonlinear modulation at the optical intensity modulator. A linear modulation is carried out on the phase-delayed signals and on optical signals from an external source to provide a linear component. The bias voltage is adjusted in accordance with the negatively fed-back signals, and an optical intensity modulation is carried out on the linearly modulated signals and on the added signals, the added signals having been formed by combining the data signals and the pilot signals.
