    • An exemplary method for manufacturing a heat dissipation apparatus includes, firstly, providing a fin assembly including a stack of fins spaced from each other. Each fin defines a through hole therein, and includes a collar formed at an edge of the through hole. Then a heat pipe is provided, and inserted in the through holes of the fins. Next, two opposing punching tools are provided. Each punching tool defines a series of recesses. The subassembly of the heat pipe and fins is positioned between the two punching tools, with the collar of each fin located between two corresponding recesses of the two punching tools. The two punching tools punch the collars of the fins from two opposite sides of the collars. Thereby, the collars shrink inwardly and press the heat pipe to deform until the heat pipe is fittedly mounted in the collars of the fins.

    • An exemplary fastener used for connecting at least two components together includes a bolt, a shell, and an elastic member. The bolt has a head, a shaft, an engaging portion, and a threaded portion in series. A diameter of the engaging portion is larger than a diameter of the shaft and a diameter of the threaded portion. The shell has a side wall and a collar extending inwardly from a bottom of the side wall. The collar defines a through hole therein. A diameter of the through hole is slightly smaller than the diameter of the engaging portion of the bolt. The elastic member is sandwiched between the head of the bolt and the collar of the shell. The bolt with the elastic member is received in the shell, and a top of the engaging portion of the bolt abuts against a bottom of the collar of the shell.

    • A heat sink assembly for an add-on card includes a heat sink and a clip received in the heat sink. The heat sink includes a supporting plate and a first and a second heat absorbing plates extending downwardly from the supporting plate. The first and second heat absorbing plates sandwich first and second heat conductive plates and the add-on card therebetween. The supporting plate is located over and spaced from the add-on card. The clip includes a resisting member, first and second engaging members and first and second pressing members. The resisting member is received in the heat sink and abuts upwardly against the supporting plate of the heat sink. The first and second engaging members engage with the first and second heat absorbing plates, respectively. The pressing members abut downwardly against a clasp clasping the conductive plates and the add-on card together.

    • An electronic assembly includes a printed circuit board mounted with an electronic component, a heat sink, and a clip securing the heat sink on the printed circuit board to enable the heat sink to have an intimate contact with the electronic component. The printed circuit board forms two engaging portions each defining a receiving hole therein. The heat sink includes a base and a plurality of fins. The clip includes a pressing member pressing the heat sink to the electronic component, two V-shaped operating members extending slantwise from ends of the pressing member, and two clasps extending outwardly from ends of the operating members. Height of each of the clasps is larger than that of each of the receiving holes of the engaging portions. The clasps of the clip lock with the engaging portions by manipulating the operating members.

    • A heat dissipation assembly has a containment apparatus preventing unwanted migration of a thermal interface material to surrounding areas on a bottom surface of a heat sink. The heat sink includes a base and a plurality of fins extending from the base. The base defines two elongated grooves at two opposite lateral sides thereof, respectively. The containment apparatus includes a plate located below the thermal interface material and an annular frame extending upwardly from edges of the plate and attached to a periphery of the base of the heat sink. The frame defines two inserting ribs projecting inwardly from inner walls thereof and correspondingly inserting into the grooves of the base.
