摘要： A method and apparatus are provided for radio access technology (RAT) monitoring, in a wireless system environment having wireless communications equipment and at least two different RATs that coexist for providing to the equipment access to one or more communications networks. The equipment has at least two subsystems, each adapted for establishing and maintaining an active communications connection with a certain one of the different RATs. The equipment selects at least a first RAT, among all the RATs available in a certain geographical area, for establishing the active communications connection, according to a monitored characteristic of the first RAT. The method includes scanning a characteristic of a second RAT available for communication in the geographical area while the equipment maintains an active communications connection with the first RAT, and performing the scanning step when the equipment does not transmit signals through the active communications connection maintained with the first RAT.

摘要： A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for matching a rate of data bits to a desired rate by deletion of redundant data bits or repetition of data bits are disclosed. In a non-interleaved matrix of the data bits, a pattern of bits to be deleted or repeated to provide the desired data rate is determined. An address of each bit in the pattern in a manner inverse to the interleaving process is decoded to produce a respective address of the bit in the matrix. The respective bit in the interleaved data bits is deleted or repeated depending upon the respective address. The address decoding is performed in the same manner as a coding of addresses for producing the interleaved data bits from the non-interleaved matrix of the data bits.

摘要： A scheme for multiplexing transport channels on one or several communication channels is used to operate in a normal mode and in a compressed mode which requires a lower symbol rate to provide in active periods in the communication channels. To match the symbol rate on each of the transport channels, a symbol puncturing is performed in two passes: marked symbols are introduced and are subjected, along with the other information symbols, to different operations including an interleaving, before being deleted from the transmitted sequence. Accordingly, those operations can be performed in the same manner in the normal and compressed modes, which limits the complexity of the communicating entities.

摘要： Matching a rate of data bits, in a matrix of data bits interleaved by a predetermined interleaving process, to a desired rate by deletion of redundant data bits or repetition of data bits derived from the matrix. It includes steps of determining in a non-interleaved matrix of the data bits a pattern of bits to be deleted or repeated to provide the desired data rate, decoding an address of each bit in said pattern in a manner inverse to the interleaving process to product a respective address of the bit in the matrix of interleaved data bits, and deleting or repeating the respective bit in the interleaved data bits in dependence upon the respective address. The address decoding is performed in the same manner as a coding of addresses for producing the interleaved data bits from the non-interleaved matrix of the data bits.
