    • An upper member for inducting power in a coupler assembly having an electromagnet core is a subassembly of a top body member and a bottom body member which enclose a circuit substrate. The circuit substrate is disposed within a cavity between the top and bottom body members, and includes electrical components surface mounted on at least one surface of the circuit substrate. EMI/RFI shielding is formed by plating of at least the surfaces around the cavity surrounding the circuit substrate, and conductively joining the top and bottom body members completely surrounding the circuit substrate thereby protecting the electrical components from EMI/RFI interference.

    • A cable strain relief assembly has a first cover (30, 180) fastenable to a cable face (26) of an electrical connector (20) having an array (28) of cables (22) extending therefrom such that the cable array (28) extends over a transverse aperture (50, 184) near the rearward end (36) of the first cover (30, 180). The second cover (80, 182) is securable over the cable array (28) to the first cover (30, 180) at their rearward ends (36, 86) in a manner clamping the cables (22) into the aperture and against surfaces (52, 54, 190) adjacent the forward (56) and rearward (58) sides of the aperture (50, 184). In one embodiment, the second cover (80) has a pair of hooks (90) which hook around a pair of cylindrical bosses (60) at each side of the cable array (28) and just rearwardly of the aperture (50), and the second cover (80) is then rotatable with the hooks (90) and bosses (60) comprising a pivot unit a clamping surface (102) of the second cover (80) engages the cables (22) and deflects portions of them into the aperture (50) and clamps them against the adjacent surfaces (52, 54) whereupon the second cover (80) is fastened to the first cover (30) such as by latch members (68) and bosses (60). In another embodiment the second cover (182) is a clamping bar received and latched into the aperture (184) deflecting and clamping portions (194) of the cables against adjacent surfaces (190).

    • A key member (50) for an electrical connector (10,100) is removably securable in the housing (12,110) thereof without fasteners and has a rearward retention section (56) comprised of preferably four radially inwardly deflectable quadrants (70) which ride over retention projections (42,130) within connector passageways (28,114). The retention projections (42,130) are preferably annular or semiannular to seat in an annular recess (82,86). In one embodiment the key member (50) can be retained in the passageway (114) by a transverse plate-like member (142) inserted into a transverse slot (128) in the connector housing (110) which has fingers (146) passing by the key member ( 50) on opposing sides in an annular recess (82) and secure therearound to prevent axial movement, and the key member (50) in return can secure to the housing (10) the plate-like member (142) which may be a section of a spring latch (140) to latch the connector (100) to a mating connector (10).
