摘要： The detachable cryosurgical probe includes a disposable probe assembly and a reusable probe assembly. The disposable probe assembly includes a breakaway collar which, when twisted away, activates a finger lock element which provides release of the disposable probe assembly from the reusable probe assembly. Additional features include a safety valve assembly for impeding cryogenic working fluid flow when the disposable probe assembly is detached from the reusable probe assembly and an electrical confirmation assembly for providing electrical confirmation that the disposable probe assembly is connected. Other embodiments include a sliding mechanism that allows for selectively positioning of the vacuum tube relative to the shaft to create an ice ball of the desired size and configuration.

The fluid conduit subassembly delivers and returns cooling fluid used for cryogenic cooling. The fluid conduit subassembly, comprises a shaft for providing a heat exchange surface for cryogenic ablation; a housing securely connected to said shaft; and, an insulation element slideably engaged with an inner surface of the shaft and slideably engaged with the stem. The cryosurgical probe assembly includes an adjustable sliding apparatus that includes a slider assembly securely attached to said insulation tube for slideably guiding the insulation tube along said shaft; and, a button assembly operatively connected to the slider assembly for allowing a user to actuate the slider assembly to provide a desired adjustment of the insulation tube relative to the shaft. A handle assembly is positioned about the housing.

摘要： The system for providing computer guided ablation of tissue of a patient includes an ablative surgical computer system and a set of surgical devices. The ablative surgical computer system includes a guidance module for providing a treatment guidance plan to an operator; and, a treatment module for acquiring and processing surgical device output data, for optimally controlling treatment parameters and providing feedback information to the operator based on the treatment guidance plan. The set of surgical devices includes at least one ablative device for providing ablation of the treatment region based on the treatment parameters and operator input; and, at least one temperature sensing device for acquiring temperature data from the treatment region and providing a temperature sensing device output signal. The temperature sensing device output signal is a portion of the surgical device output data. The treatment guidance plan is utilized for placing the ablative device and the temperature sensing device into the treatment region.

摘要： The catheter includes a multi-lumen tube having an outflow portion and an accessory portion. The accessory portion is integrally formed within an interior volume of the outflow portion. The accessory portion has a cross-section smaller than the outflow portion. The outflow portion is offset from the accessory portion such that they are integrally joined. The space between these portions defines a fluid return passageway and the space within the accessory portion defines an accessory passageway. A flexible outer sleeve cooperates with the multi-lumen tube to form a fluid inlet passageway. During operation, an inlet flow of warming fluid flows through the fluid inlet passageway formed between the outer sleeve and the multi-lumen tube. The flow continues around a distal end of the outflow portion of the multi-lumen tube, thus becoming an outlet flow of the warming fluid which is directed through the fluid return passageway.

摘要： The quick disconnect assembly includes a reusable assembly including a distal end having a male lip thereon; and, a disposable assembly having quick disconnect capabilities when utilized with the reusable assembly. The disposable assembly includes a stem section; a finger lock element; and, a detachable handle assembly. The finger lock element includes a distal finger lock element section having a threaded inner surface for engagement with a threaded outer surface of the stem section; and, a plurality of radially spaced fingers extending proximally from the distal finger lock element section. Each finger has a) a ramped surface for operatively engaging an associated ramp section on the stem section during use; and, b) a female lip at a proximal end thereof. The detachable handle assembly includes a proximal handle section having a distal end having an inner surface that is operatively engaged with an outer surface of the finger lock element so as to resist relative rotation and axial motion therebetween. A distal handle section of the detachable handle assembly includes a distal handle section having an inner surface that is operatively engaged with another outer surface of the stem section so as to resist relative rotation and axial motion therebetween. A breakaway collar of the detachable handle assembly is positioned between the proximal handle section and the distal handle section. When the disposable assembly is attached, the breakaway collar is an integral unit which prevents relative rotation between the proximal handle section and the distal handle section, the female lip engaging the male lip at a distal end of the reusable assembly, thereby securing the reusable assembly to the disposable assembly. The quick disconnect assembly may be used to provide only a mechanical connection or it may be provided with components for providing fluid transfer. In another embodiment, instead of only providing for single use, multiple use of a detachable assembly is provided by eliminating the breakaway collar and utilizing spring biasing means.

A pump assembly housing includes a longitudinal positioning opening and a pressurization cavity at a distal end terminating with a pump assembly outlet. An internal check valve assembly includes a shaft positioned within an opening of the pump assembly housing that extends into the pressurization cavity. The shaft is attached to the actuator and includes a longitudinal guidance slot; a fluid passageway; and, an internal sealing surface. A positioning bar assembly is positioned within the guidance slot. A connecting rod is securely connected at a first end to the positioning bar assembly, the connecting rod being positioned within the fluid passageway and terminating with a flow inhibiting element. A seal is positioned between the pump assembly housing and the check valve to provide a closure for the pressurization cavity.
