    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a calcium silicate formed body for chimney lining which has excellent heat insulation property, heat resistance and thermal shock resistance, hardly causes explosive fracture in use and is excellent in workability and a method of manufacturing the same.
      SOLUTION: The calcium silicate formed body for the chimney lining is obtained through a step (1) of obtaining a calcium silicate-fiber composite formed body by forming aqueous slurry containing 35-99 wt.% calcium silicate in a solid portion and 1-3 wt.% synthetic fiber having 20-500 μm fiber diameter and 2-15 mm fiber length in the solid portion and a step (2) of decomposing the synthetic fiber included in the composite formed body by heat-treating the composite formed body obtained in the step (1) and has a void derived from the synthetic fiber inside.
