    • The present invention relates to a method and device for combating identified targets (F) using warheads (2) from a launching vehicle (1) flying over a target area, by separating from this launching vehicle (1) warheads (2) which act independently after separation, and including those targets which lie close to the flight trajectory of the launching vehicle (1) and those which lie well to the side of same flight trajectory. The invention is based on the use of that part of the kinetic energy of the launching vehicle (1) which the warhead (2) takes over from the same when it is separated in order to give the warhead (2) a looping trajectory or any other programmed flight trajectory, which carries it up to a starting height adapted to its active use, which lies considerably above the actual flight trajectory of the launching vehicle (1), and which, if so required, can carry the warhead (2) back to the geographical position where it was separated from the launching vehicle (1). The action of the warhead (2) can then follow guidelines known per se.

    • A device for quick closing of an electric circuit having a main spark gap with main electrodes and a triggering device. The triggering device has an auxiliary spark gap with auxiliary electrodes for igniting an arc in the main spark gap. The auxiliary electrodes are shielded from the main spark gap by a shielding unit having channel means extending therethrough from an auxiliary spark gap facing side to a main spark gap facing side of the shielding unit. The device further includes a nozzle with a first end being most close to the auxiliary spark gap and a second end most close to the main spark gap. The first end has an inlet opening that is in connection with the channel means and the second end has an outlet opening. The invention also relates to a corresponding method and to a use of the device.

    • A device for quick closing of an electric high-voltage circuit. A main spark gap is provided with a first and a second main electrode, and a triggering device. The triggering device includes an auxiliary electrode gap provided with a first and a second auxiliary electrode and is adapted, where necessary, to generate an arc in the auxiliary spark gap for igniting an arc in the main spark gap. Each auxiliary electrode is provided with a guide rail designed such that the arc, via the guide rails and under the influence of the generated inherent magnetic field, moves into the main spark gap. The two guide rails each have a length that is larger than the width of the auxiliary spark gap. The auxiliary electrodes are adapted so as to be protected from the effect of plasma formed in the main spark gap. A hermetic enclosure encloses the main spark gap and the auxiliary spark gap.

    • An overvoltage protective device for a series capacitor (C) has a main spark gap and a first auxilary spark gap, arranged adjacent thereto, for ignition of the main spark gap. A second auxiliary spark gap is arranged in association with the first auxiliary gap for ignition thereof. The first and second auxiliary spark gaps are connected between one of the electrodes of the the main spark gap and a voltage divider which comprises resistors (R1, R2, R3 ) and a varisistor (VR1) . When the knee voltage of the varisistor is exceeded, the second auxiliary spark gap is ignited, the arc of which initiates ignition of the first auxiliary spark gap, the arc of which in turn moves towards and ignites the main spark gap. During the arcing time of the spark gap, a controlled discharge of the series capacitor through a resistor (R2) takes place.

    • A method of separating a sub-combat unit from a protective canister. The method comprises the steps of discharging the sub-combat unit from the protective canister by causing a displacement of a driving sabot within the protective canister. The driving sabot is displaced by an elevated gas pressure generated by the combustion of a gas-generating pyrotechnical charge. The displacement of the sabot imparts a trajectory to the sub-combat unit. The displaceable driving sabot is prevented, by arrest means interconnected between the driving sabot and the canister, from accompanying the sub-combat unit in its new trajectory. A division of the protective canister into a plurality of parts is caused. The division ensures a change in at least one of the trajectory and the velocity of the parts of the canister.
