    • The invention relates to a Switch connector for mounting on a printed circuit board, adapted to receive a mating connector in an insertion direction along an insertion axis. The switch connector comprises a shield, a contact element, and a contact spring having at least one fixed leg, at least one elastically deflectable switching leg, and at least one spring bend, the fixed leg and the switching leg extending from the spring bend in a common direction and passing the insertion axis. The switching leg is adapted to be moved by insertion of the mating connector from a rest position, at which the switching leg exerts a spring force onto the contact element, to a switching position, at which the switching leg is spaced apart from the contact element, at least one spring force flux that in the rest position is generated by the switching leg and guided in a closed loop to the fixed leg. To increase the reliability of the switching function, the shield is arranged in the closed loop of the spring force flux.

    • The invention relates to a coaxial connector (1) for mounting on a printed circuit board adapted to receive a mating coaxial connector in an insertion direction (I). The coaxial connector comprises a contact spring (8) having a fixed leg (16) and an deflectable switching leg (15). The switching leg (15) is moved by insertion of the mating connector from a rest position to a switching position. In rest position said switching leg electrically conductively presses against the switch portion (19) of the contact element (10). The spring force flux (F) is guided via a contact element (10) in a closed loop back to the contact spring (8). In switching position the switching leg (15) is spaced apart in an switching direction (D) from the switch portion (19) by the inserted mating connector. To provide smaller dimensions the contact element (10) is formed as a substantially C-shaped clip forming an opening (O) framed by the support portion (20) and the switch portion (19), the switching leg (15) of the contact spring (8) extending into the opening.

    • A cradle connector for a radio-telephone base station has a plurality of terminals mounted in insulative housings the terminal interconnected by a shorting bar inmoulded to the housing. The terminals have spring section and contacts that are depressible against action of the spring to allow relatively large tolerances in the positioning of the telephone with respect to the base station. The contacts have extensions that abut against the shorting bar when the connector is disconnected, whereby one of the terminals is connected to ground so that electrostatic discharges do not damage the base station circuitry. Certain extensions can be removed for some of the terminals if such terminals should not be grounded (e.g. power terminals). The shorting bar could be made of wire that interconnects a plurality of housings during manufacturing and handling for reducing the cost thereof. The cradle connector is thus compact, cost-effective and protected against electrostatic discharge.
