摘要： PURPOSE:To perform a precooling operation within a short period of time while restricting an amount of consumption of liquid nitrogen for cooling operation in a less expensive manner and with a compact structure. CONSTITUTION:A high pressure line 3 and a lower temperature part in a low pressure line 4 than that of an outer cooling heat exchanger 5f are connected by a precooling bypass line 14. A sub-heat exchanger 5g is arranged at a position where a high temperature is attained subsequent to the outer cooling heat exchanger 5f. Only a first cooling line 7a and the high pressure line 3 having cooling liquid nitrogen flowed therein are passed through the sub-heat exchanger 5g. The high pressure line 3, the low pressure line 4 and a second cooling line 7b are passed through the outer cooling heat exchanger 5f. In the case that a temperature of the returning gas detected by the temperature adjusting meter 16 is high, a flow adjusting valve 7a is fully closed and liquid nitrogen is not made to flow through the second cooling line 7b, the flow adjusting valve 7a is opened from the time when the temperature off the return gas is lowered and then liquid nitrogen is passed through the second cooling line 7b.

摘要： PURPOSE:To prevent a supercooling of a low pressure line with any pressure fluctuation hardly caused on the suction side of a compressor. CONSTITUTION:A recovery tank 8 is connected to a high pressure line 3 at a discharging side of and a low pressure line 4 at a suction side of a compressor 10 through each off helium passages 9a and 9b. Each of both lines 3 and 4 is provided with pressure adjusting meters 13 and 14. These pressure adjusting meters 13 and 14 are constructed such that pressure fluctuation in both lines 3 and 4 is accommodated by the recovery tank 8 and the valve travel of each of the adjusting valves 11a and 11b in the helium passages 9a and 9b is controlled. A location where the low temperature side helium passage 9b is connected in the low pressure line 4 is set at a part near an outlet within a refrigerator box 2.

摘要： PURPOSE:To reduce the amount of leakage to the rear side of a second sidewall for reducing the load on a driver for capacity adjustment by a method wherein the inner circumferential part of the second sidewall is extended in the axial direction of a turbine impeller to form an L-shaped axial section, and an intermediate pressure chamber is formed between the second sidewall and an annular side plate. CONSTITUTION:P represents the pressure in an intermediate pressure chamber 9, P1 the pressure at the inlet of an entrance flow path 8, and P2 the pressure at the outlet. The pressure P varies depending upon the sizes of gaps at the inner and outer circumferences of a second sidewall 3 and a gap at the inner circumference of a slot 6, however, a relationship P1>P>P2 is established. As the second sidewall 3 having an L-shaped axial section is provided to form an intermediate pressure chamber 9, a thrust F= A(P1-P) is exerted on the second sidewall 3, where A is a sectional area perpendicular to the axial direction. By adequately adjusting the gaps, P=1/2(P1+P2) is established. The inner circumference of the second sidewall 3 serves as a weir, the differential pressure across the second sidewall 3 becomes small, resulting in an reduction of gas leakage amount to the rear side of the second sidewall 3.

摘要： PURPOSE:To precisely control nozzle intervals by sending driving signals to a driving source from a driving signal generator based on the necessary moving quantity and a new driving direction upon operating the necessary moving quantity for a nozzle side plate and deciding the new driving direction. CONSTITUTION:A present position of a nozzle side plate 3 and a driving direction of the nozzle side plate 3 theretofore are always stored by an electronic computer 11. Simultaneously therewith, when a new set position is inputted to the electronic computer 11, a necessary moving quantity of the nozzle side plate 3 is operated as a difference between the present position and the set position. Next, a new driving direction is decided from magnitude relationship between the present position and the set position. When the new driving direction and the last driving direction are different to each other, a predetermined correction quantity is added to the necessary moving quantity. Driving signals are sent to a driving source 8 from a driving signal generator based on these necessary moving quantity and the new driving direction. It becomes possible thereby to correctly set position of the nozzle side plate 3 and to precisely control nozzle intervals.

摘要： PURPOSE:To minimize heat invasion from a piping system and to improve cooling efficiency by a method wherein a superconductive magnet precooler to make a precooling by circulating helium gas of low temperature is built in a cryostat for superconductive magnet. CONSTITUTION:A superconductive magnet 11 is arranged inside a cryostat 10 and mounted on a center part of a top flange 18 to carry out a vacuum evacuation of the inside of the cryostat 10. After the evacuation is finished, helium gas is introduced from a gas bomb 20 through a reducing valve 22 to a helium gas line which leads to an inside space 21 and a low temperature helium blower 12 to carry out helium replacement. At this time, temperature of precooling gas which is supplied to the inside space 21 of the cryostat 10 is kept constantly at 80K. A control of precooling time of the superconductive magnet 11 can be realized easily by controlling the rotation number of the low temperature helium blower 12. Accordingly, as the helium gas is circulated within the cryostat 10, invasion heat can be largely prohibited, and therefore cooling efficiency can be improved.

SOLUTION: This expander is provided with an adiabatic expansion device 22 incorporatol with a turbine impeller 12 to lead very low temperature gas, to adiabatic expansion by its rotation, a brake device 24 coaxially connected to the turbine impeller 12 for braking this; and a variable nozzle mechanism 30 for changing a throat area of the very low temperature gas introduced to the turbne impeller 12. The adiabatic expansion device 22 is installed in a vacuum vessel 14, and the brake device 24 is installed outside the vacuum vessel 14. The variable nozzle mechanism 30 comprises a nozzle member 32 built in the adiabatic expansion device 22, and a drive member 34 installed outside the vacuum vessel 14. The nozzle member 32 and the drive member 34 are connected to each other by a thin cylindrical member 36 which is coaxial with the turbine impeller 12, and the nozzle member 32 is driven by oscillation of the cylindrical member 36 around an axial center Z of the turbine impeller 12.
