    • A chemical analyzer for measuring a concentration of components of a sample liquid, by mixing the sample liquid with reagents, so as to react the reagents upon the components thereof. The chemical analyzer includes a carrier which is constructed on a substrate and has an introducing portion through which the sample liquid is injected, distributing flow passages for distributing the sample liquid injected from the introducing portion, and plural reactor portions, each holding the sample liquid therein to be mixed with the reagent, thereby to react. A movable driver portion is provided for mounting the carrier thereon, and a reagent charging device is provided for ejecting the reagents, which are different for the respective reactor portions of the carrier. Further, a detector is provided for detecting the components after mixing the reagents with the sample liquid.

    • A hydrodynamic grooved bearing device in which a shaft is inserted into a hole formed in a bearing housing and one of the shaft and bearing housing is rotated, thereby the rotated member being supported includes a plurality of grooves formed on the shaft or an inner peripheral surface of the bearing housing for generating a dynamic pressure of fluid filled between the shaft and the bearing housing. The plurality of grooves are arranged side by side with a substantially certain pitch in a direction of rotation. Each of the grooves comprises a pair of groove portions slanted relative to the direction of rotation such that a distance between the pair of groove portions becomes narrower towards the direction of rotation and a connecting groove portion connecting the narrowest distance between the slanted groove portions. The connecting groove portion is extended in a direction substantially perpendicular to the direction of rotation. The provision of the dynamic pressure generating grooves enables a high bearing load and a stable bearing performance with a minimum degree of whirling compared with conventional V-grooved bearing.

    • An automatic tape threading device for a magnetic recording and reproducing system wherein a leading tape member of a width larger than that of a magnetic tape for threading the magnetic tape in a cartridge through a path of travel of the magnetic tape including the outer circumference of a drum mounting a rotary magnetic head includes a joint member connected to one end portion of the magnetic tape in the cartridge and another joint member connected to one end portion of the leading tape member. The two joint members are brought into engagement with each other conjointly with the attaching of the cartridge to the magnetic recording and reproducing system, and then a takeup reel is actuated to withdraw the magnetic tape from the cartridge through the leading tape member, so as to thereby thread the magnetic tape through the path of travel of the magnetic tape.
