    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an encapsulated reducing agent for denitrification, first, highly efficient with superior ammonia generation capacity; second, a compact apparatus with reduced supply cost; third, suppressed in lowering of temperature of exhaust gas; fourth, applicable to exhaust gas of various tempearture regions; fifth, causing no solidification; and sixth, with superior production cost performance. SOLUTION: This reducing agent 4 for denitrification is formed of powdery ammonium carbamate as individual capsule units. The agent is quantitatively introduced into exhaust gas 2, to generate ammonium gas reducing nitrogen oxides in the exhaust gas 2. In a typical example, the agent has a little amount of water sectionedly contained besides ammonium carbamate, is introduced to the upstream side of a reduction catalyst 10 for a denitrification reaction. Thus, by hydrolysis reaction of ammonium carbamate by heating, ammonia gas, carbon dioxide gas and steam are generated and diffused to break the capsule. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
