摘要： A spinal fixation system comprising at least two bone anchors, a rod connecting the bone anchors and a connecting plate extending from a proximal surface of at least one of the bone anchors. A method of fixing vertebrae relative to each other comprising the steps of: implanting bone anchors in two adjacent vertebrae, each bone anchor having a rod receiving portion; placing a rod in the rod receiving portions, thereby connecting the bone anchors; threadably engaging set screws in the rod receiving portions of at least a portion of the bone anchors, thereby fixing the rod to the bone anchors; mating one end of a connecting plate to a proximal bearing surface of at least a portion of the bone anchors; and engaging a cap with at least a portion of the set screws, thereby fixing the connecting plate to the bone anchors.

摘要： The present invention provides various methods and devices for mating spinal fixation elements, such as fixation rods, to various spinal anchoring devices, such as plates, hooks, bolts, wires, and screws. In an exemplary embodiment, an implantable spinal connector is provided having a clamp member with top and bottom portions that are connected to one another at a terminal end thereof, and that are adapted to seat a spinal fixation element there between. The top and bottom portions are preferably movable between an open position in which the top and bottom portions are spaced a distance apart from one another, and a closed position in which the portions are adapted to engage a spinal fixation element positioned there between. The connector can also include a bore extending through the top and bottom portions for receiving a locking mechanism that is effective to lock the top and bottom portions in the closed position to retain a spinal fixation element there between.

摘要： A system for delivering bone cement to a bone anchor includes an anchor connection instrument for releasably connecting to a proximal end of the bone anchor. The anchor connection instrument includes a first member coupled to an opposed second member. The first member and the second member have a distal end configured to releasably connect to the proximal end of the bone anchor. The first member is movable between a release position to facilitate release of the anchor connection instrument from the proximal end of the bone anchor and a connect position in which the first member and the second member connect to the proximal end of the bone anchor. A cement delivery tube is positionable in the passage between the first member and the second member of the anchor connection instrument. A bone cement delivery system is coupled to the tube.

The present embodiments are directed towards systems and methods that allow a user to implement threat levels in the context of a BMS. In broad terms, aspects of the technology described herein allow a user to define sets of configuration data for various building systems, and associate those sets of data with threat levels. In response to a change in conditions, a user selectively implements a different threat level, which causes the relevant configuration data to be applied to the various building systems. One embodiment provides a method, implemented in a computer system, including receiving data indicative of a threat level identifier, and subsequently receiving a user instruction to associate one or more sets of building system configuration data with the threat level identifier. Each set of building system configuration data relates to a respective building system. The method further includes processing the instruction, thereby to selectively associate the one or more sets of building system configuration data with the threat level identifier. Subsequently, in response to an instruction to implement a threat level corresponding to the threat level identifier, signals are generated and transmitted thereby to instruct the relevant building systems to apply configuration data corresponding to the one or more data sets associated with the threat level identifier.
