    • The drilling rig (1) is for moving a tubular between a horizontal storage position and a vertical drilling position, and comprises a tubular support device (3) for supporting the tubular in the horizontal storage position and a gripper (10) adapted for gripping the tubular at a grip point between a first end and a second end of the tubular. The drilling rig frther comprises a base (5) comprising a well head (9) for vertically receiving the tubular and a motion apparatus (11) comprising one or more actuators for moving the tubular from the horizontal storage position to the vertical drilling position by moving the gripper with respect to the base. The drilling rig further comprises a stop (7) having a known position with respect to the base for positioning the tubular in the horizontal storage position by contacting the second end of the tubular with the stop. The drilling rig comprises a tubular positioning device (15) for bringing the second end of the tubular in contact with the stop.
