摘要： In order to be able to consolidate mineral fibers without binder, such as in particular glass wool, into a needle-felt by needle-punching, an agent as a needling aid which comprises a thixotropizing additive having a relatively low flow viscosity during needling and thus allows to effectively support the needling process, is added to the mineral fibers. At rest, this thixotropizing additive however has an extremely high viscosity, whereby the needle-punched felt obtains good strength. In particular for needling rock wool, suppler textile fibers are moreover added which contribute to improved mutual interlocking of the fibers, in particular in the case of mineral fibers such as basalt fibers, which can only with difficulty be interlocked by needling. A corresponding processing aid furthermore proves advantages in the production of a crimped mat from a laminar mat, as the drastically weakened resistance against further shifting makes it possible to reorient the fibers in the crimping zone, gently and to a large degree, without the application of excessively large forces.

摘要： Markings have to be applied to the surface (41) of a mineral fibre web (38), said markings being arranged transversely to its length or to its direction of movement. For this, a cylinder (1) is provided with peripheral heating zones, in the form of heating rods (26), corresponding in shape and position to the markings to be applied, said cylinder (1) rotating at a speed whereby the rods (26), or marking ribs (30) provided on the latter, effect the rolling essentially without any slippage on the surface (41) of the mineral fibre web (38). The heating rods (26) or marking strips (30) are made of metal and are electrically heated, by an internal tubular heating element (31), to such a temperature that when contact is made with the surface (41) of the mineral fibre web (38) a flat decomposition zone (43) is created which corresponds to the contour of the marking strips (30), in which zone the binder of the mineral fibre web (38) is decomposed and by changing colour produces the optically visible marking line. The cylinder (1) can be driven either by a d.c. motor synchronously with the line speed of the mineral fibre web (38), or it can also be driven by entrainment with the surface (41) of the mineral fibre web (38).

摘要： Laminated mineral wool products which have to comply with high fire protection standards, such as building material belonging to Class A2 according to DIN 4102, require special production expenses if the laminating foil is to be reliably fastened with organic glue without downgrading its fire protection classification. By foaming the glue it is possible to manage with a fraction of the hitherto required quantity of glue without having to accept an essential lowering of glue performance. As a result, organic glue can be used without its fire load having to be neutralised by polluting flame-inhibiting agents. Furthermore the glue foam causes less problems during processing in production, reduces the charged quantity of glue, and reduces the required drying capacities. It is particularly suited for difficult applications such as laminating felt which is rolled for packaging or laminated panels comprising erect fibers.

摘要： The surfaces of coated mineral fiber products, as a rule, also form a barrier against dust and trickling particles, are however not accepted for technological reasons and reasons of cost unless their intended use requires coating or impregnating for different reasons. In order to provide such mineral wool products, which - in view of their use - usually are not coated, with a barrier against dust or trickling particles, it is proposed to provide their surfaces with an impregnating mass applied in a foamed form. The froth is destroyed during drying or curing to open macroscopic pores between the fibers, whereby an open surface structure of the product is preserved. Nevertheless the impregnated layer offers effective protection against solid matter passing through it. Impregnation by means of a foam incurs surprisingly low additional costs, even in large series production. It is of particular importance that by selecting a suitable impregnating mass, the tactile sensation of the product may be modified in a desired manner such that the product will e.g. be softer or warmer to the touch.

摘要： The only methods hitherto available for the production of mineral wool from materials such as basalt either utilize a stationary nozzle (blast drawing method) or external centrifuging whereby unsatisfactory yield and/or a not entirely satisfactory fiber quality, particularly with regard to a high content of unfiberized components, are achieved. By way of the invention, application of a fiberization method is suggested which, in spite of a high fluidity of the molten mineral material such as basalt, arrives at high quality fibers with a low bead proportion at good yield. This is made possible by selection of specific materials and their fiberization in specific conditions. Whereas fiberization of these fluid materials is carried out in external centrifuging at viscosities of a few tens of poises, fiberization by internal centrifuging at viscosities of more than 100 poises is required, according to the invention, in order to achieve a mineral wool for insulation purposes with a low bead content.
