摘要： The present invention relates to a method for confirming the delivery of a data packet in a mesh network (100) by sending an acknowledgement to an ingress mesh point (104-4). A mesh network (100) comprises a plurality of mesh points (104) that are wirelessly linked together. A data packet sent by a station is received by an ingress mesh point (104-4). A MAC frame (200) is generated for transmission of the data packet and the frame is forwarded to an egress mesh point (104-2) in order to provide a service by the mesh network. The MAC frame (200) includes a field comprising an ingress mesh point address (206) and an egress mesh point (208) address. When the egress mesh point (104-2), receives a data packet successfully, the egress mesh point (104-2) or the intermediate mesh point (104-5) sends an ACK to the ingress mesh point (104-4) or preceding mesh point.

摘要： In a wireless communication system comprising a plurality of mesh points (MPs), a method and apparatus for transmitting management information includes a first MP transmitting a management frame to a second MP, wherein the management frame includes the medium access control (MAC) address of a destination MP. The second MP receives the management frame from the first MP and determines if it is the destination MP. The second MP updates the management frame if the second MP determines it is not the destination MP, and transmits the management frame to a third MP. The transmissions terminate when the data reaches the destination MP.

The MPs are configured to broadcast quality of service (QoS) information over a wireless medium. Each MP may request QoS information directly from at least one other one of the MPs. The MPs store QoS information in the central DB and are configured to query the central DB QoS information associated with any of the MPs. Thus, QoS information is shared throughout the mesh network, and QoS policies are defined and updated where an MP may co-exist with another MP, an MP may co-exist with systems external to the mesh network, and an MP may co-exist with mesh access points (MAPs).

A plurality of time slots of a radio resource are sorted into a plurality of different categories, such as high QoS time slots, high capacity time slots, and balanced time slots. 摘要： A multiple radio access technology (RAT) apparatus with mobility middleware provides a user with access to various RAT networks, such as a frequency division duplex (FDD) network and a wireless local area network (WLAN). In one embodiment, the apparatus is a dual mode FDD/WLAN converged wireless communication handset which includes a terminal equipment (TE) module having mobility middleware, an applications and protocols processor and a terminal interface (TI).
