    • Systems, methods, and instrumentalities are disclosed for applying flexible D2D discovery. A first wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may determine a duration of a transmission to a second WTRU within a scheduling period. The first WTRU may determine a time offset for the transmission based on the determined duration. The time offset may indicate a transmission start time when the transmission starts within the scheduling period. The first WTRU may send a scheduling assignment that includes a time offset parameter. The time offset parameter may indicate the transmission start time. The time offset parameter may be determined on a random basis. The time offset parameter may be determined based on an identifier, e.g., such as a group destination identification (ID). The first WTRU may send an indication of a number of transport blocks in the transmission.
