摘要： Embodiments of the present disclosure describe methods and apparatuses for measurement reporting associated with one or more beams of a serving cell and a neighbor cell in a wireless communication network. A user equipment (UE) may process a message received from a new radio base station (gNB) of the serving cell to determine a maximum number of beams per cell for the UE to include in a measurement report. The UE may measure feedback information on a plurality of beams of respective individual cells, including the serving cell and a neighbor cell. The UE may generate the measurement report based on the measured feedback information and the maximum number and transmit the generated measurement report to the gNB. Other embodiments may be described and claimed.

摘要： A User Equipment (UE) device operates to directly determine a target small cell for access or handover with the assistance of a macro cell network. The UE directly generates the connection and selects which small cell to access from among a subset of small cells chosen of a set of candidate small cells. The UE is provided dedicated assistance information from the evolved node B (eNB) or macro network device. The dedicated assistance information enables the UE to measure data from the candidate small cells within a heterogeneous network environment. The UE shares the measured data and connects directly to the selected small cell for an access or handover operation.

摘要： An eNodeB (eNB) and user equipment (UE) are provided that detect whether the UE is in coverage enhancement mode and if so uses a modified version of the Radio Link Control (RLC) configuration in communications between the eNB and UE. Detection mechanisms may differ between the eNB and UE and may include direct signaling between the eNB and UE, the ability to receive control signaling only through particular modified signaling procedures, low power of certain received control signals or lack of response to certain control signals within various predetermined time periods. The modified RLC configuration permits a smaller amount of data than a standard RLC configuration to be transmitted by a transmitting device before a receiving device is able to be polled for information regarding reception by the receiving device of the transmitted data.
