One example involves assigning a distinct sequence number to each of one or more control plane (CP) packets from a wearable radio resource control (w-RRC) layer; buffering the one or more CP packets to a CP transmission buffer; determining a physical resource assignment (PRA) and an allocated size for a wearable higher layer (w-HL) control protocol data unit (C-PDU); generating the w-HL C-PDU based at least in part on the one or more CP packets buffered to the CP transmission buffer, the PRA, and the allocated size; adding a packet header to the w-HL C-PDU; and providing the w-HL C-PDU to a physical layer based on the PRA.

摘要： This disclosure is directed to base station power conservation via device operation coordination. A base station (BS) may interact with user equipment (UE) within its cell. During interaction the BS may identify certain UEs based on operational characteristics of the UEs. For example, the BS may determine that certain UEs are Internet of Things (IoT) devices whose operation may conform to a predictable pattern that may be controlled by the BS. The BS may then perform various operations to coordinate the operation of the certain UE devices to propagate periods of wireless inactivity during which the BS may operate in a low power mode to conserve energy. The operations may include, for example, determining the wireless behavior of each certain UE, determining a pattern of operation for each certain UE and configuring each certain UE device based on the corresponding pattern of operation.

摘要： Technology for a target evolved node B (eNB) operable to facilitate handover is disclosed. The target eNB can receive a handover request message to hand over a user equipment (UE) from the source eNB to the target eNB. The handover request message can include an evolved packet system (EPS) bearer group identifier (ID) indicating an EPS group bearer of the source eNB and associated with the UE, a last UE indicator to indicate whether the UE is a last UE of the source eNB to use the EPS group bearer, and a downlink (DL) traffic indicator to indicate whether the DL traffic for the UE during handover is negligible. The target eNB can perform a handover procedure to establish a connection with the UE based on at least one of the EPS bearer group ID, the last UE indicator, or the DL traffic indicator included in the handover request message.

In one embodiment, for example, user equipment (UE) may comprise logic, at least a portion of which is in hardware, the logic to receive a radio resource control (RRC) configuration message during operation in a dually-connected UE state, determine whether UE assistance information reporting is enabled for the UE based on the RRC configuration message, and in response to a determination that UE assistance information reporting is enabled for the UE, send one or more UE assistance information messages to report a macro cell power preference and a small cell power preference.
