CONSTITUTION:Printing-finished cans C are conveyed upward by a conveying means A and pass through the inside of a baking device. At this time, a chain 14 travels clockwise at the same speed as the chain 3 of the conveying means A, while keeping an inside space 18 at a negative pressure by means of a blower 17. A compressed air is jetted out of a nozzle 22 according to a can take-out signal to press the can C against the surface of the chain 14. Thereby, the can C is adsorbed to the surface of the chain 14 due to the negative pressure of the inside space 18 and conveyed to an inspection portion. Thereby, the cans can be extracted safely and surely while being conveyed at a high speed.

    • PURPOSE:To automate the painting inspection of the internal surface of an empty can be injecting a conductive liquid into the empty can, immersing an electrode rod in the conductive liquid in the can and pressing a stylus electrode against the external surface of the can, and measuring the current value between both electrodes. CONSTITUTION:The empty can B which is conveyed continuously and already painted is extracted by an extracting mechanism 10. The empty can B is sucked by a suction pad 20 and moved to a weighing position P. Then a prescribed amount of conductive liquid (salt water) is injected into the empty can B. Then the can B is moved to a measurement position Q and the electrode rod is immersed in the conductive liquid in the can B. Further, the stylus electrode is pressed against the external surface of the can B and a DC voltage is applied between the electrode rod and stylus electrode. At this time, if the painting on the internal surface of the can B is defective and its metallic part is exposed, a current larger than a prescribed value flows between both electrodes, so the current value is measured to judge the painting as defective painting. Thus, the current value between the electrode rod and stylus electrode is measured, so the painting inspection of the can internal surface is automated and the reliability is improved.

    • PURPOSE:To automatically measure the size of the neck part of a necking can with high accuracy by projecting light on the can in its diameter direction and measuring the length of the can with photodetected light. CONSTITUTION:When the necking can A is placed at the grip part 14b of a mount table 14, a sensor 17 detects that and rotates a positioning arm 16 clockwise to make the side face on the can body of the can A, which is pressed against a positioning part 14a and positioned. Then, the table rotates counterclockwise by 90 deg. to direct the axis of the can A horizontally, and then a slide table 4 moves forth; and its X-coordinate position is measured by a digital gauge 12 and inputted to a data processing mechanism DS. Further, the tip part of the can A cuts off the luminous flux of an optical measuring mechanism 20 and the length of the luminous flux sensed by a photodetection part 22 is measured as a Y coordinate and inputted to the DS. The DS regards the position when the tip part of the can A reaches the luminous flux as the X-coordinate origin of the can A, grasps the relative distance of the can A to the origin position as an X coordinate, and grasps the projection image of the can A with a Y coordinate signal of the coordinate. Then it is analyzed whether or not the contour of the image deviates from a reference shape.

    • PURPOSE:To perform inspection in a short time, to automatize the inspection, and to improve its reliability by controlling respective mechanisms by a control mechanism, judging whether or not an empty can is normal from measurement results, and gathering the respective measurement results. CONSTITUTION:The empty bottomed cylindrical can which has a recessed part in the center of its bottom part toward its opening part is conveyed by a robot hand A from a can stocker B sectioned for each manufacture lot to each measuring mechanism. Measuring mechanisms C and D measure the height of the can by bringing probes into contact with the upper edge of the side part while rotating the empty can, and also clamp the side part by the probes to measure the thickness. A measuring mechanism E, on the other hand, inserts its probe into the recessed part to measure its depth. The can is taken out by the robot hand A after said measurement and a microcomputer (control mechanism) commands those operations to judge whether or not the empty can is normal from the measurement results and also gather the measurement results.
