    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roller bearing attaining operations free from clearance and distortion. SOLUTION: Outside jacket surfaces 12a, 12b of an outer ring 2 have two grooves 10, 11 circulating in the axial direction. The first part 12a of the outside jacket surface present between both grooves 10, 11 in the axial direction is retreated in the radial direction relative to the second part 12b of the outside jacket surface present outside the groove in the axial direction. The outer ring 2 has a substantially constant thickness within a range of the first part 12a of the outside jacket surface. Within 0.5 to 1.5 of a ratio between a radial wall thickness B and an axial wall thickness A of each groove 10, 11, the roller bearing has an outer ring elastic and flexible in the radial direction in which an axial length longer than that of a standard bearing is not required and deviation in the radial direction is caused to prevent the rolling body raceway from losing the original shape when a specified load is applied to the rolling body raceway of the outer ring.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inner ring capable of lengthening the service life of a roller bearing, and manufacturing in a cost effective manner.
      SOLUTION: The inner ring 1 has a rolling body raceway surface 2 present in the axial direction of the rotary shaft 12 of the inner ring 1 between two edge ends 5, 6 of the inner ring 1. The inner ring 1 has sunken parts 7, 8 between at least one edge end 5, 6 and the rolling body raceway surface 2. More specifically, the roller bearing which rotates at a high speed is lengthened in the service life by improving a lubricating state, can be simply manufactured in a cost-effective manner, and can be used in place of a conventional inner ring without additionally changing the roller bearing. The widths a, b of part between both contact surfaces 3, 4 in the sunken parts 5, 6 are set to 15 to 30% of the interval c of both contact surfaces 3, 4.
